Happy Saturday Active Rain!

This is the first weekend of November so let's make it a good one!
Wishing you all a very wonderful weekend!

rain: Summer Sunday for Caruso - 07/31/11 03:17 PM
Today we woke up to a gentle rain and humidity...very unlikely in Southern California during July of ANY year!
Before long, the winds changed and the humidity was gone.  For a brief time, it reminded me of my days in Florida.
So, I set off to hold Open House at 46 Brownsbury Road in Laguna Niguel.

Clear skies and a gentle west wind created a fantastic day and turnout was great!
We had 11 parties through the home, 2 agent showings and 2 neighbors attended between 12:30 and 4:30 then another agent showing at 5PM.

rain: Where do Birds go When it Rains? - 01/24/10 09:27 AM

I'm no youngster...and I have no answer for this.  I've talked to alot of people about the likelihood of where birds go when it rains and everyone has a different perspective.
Kids aren't sure about it...
Some people have said that birds fly away to a dry area where it isn't raining....but what if the whole region is experiencing rain?  Others have said that birds hide in trees when it's raining, but I've never seen them there.  Someone told me that birds hide in the eaves of homes when it's raining but I've never seen that either.
I'm not kidding … (11 comments)

rain: Hello...it's me again - Southern California - 01/18/10 01:05 PM

Hi...remember me? I'm the Great State of California and you always hear about me on the news.
Forget the fact that I'm broke, you usually hear me referred to along the lines of severe drought, wildfires, heavy rain and then mudslides / landslides, if we ever get our winter rains.
Guess what?  We have our multi-year drought, we had our fires this past autumn and now it's winter...so here it comes!  You'll read and hear about us again - because a series of winter rain storms is arriving and we'll have those mudslides and landslides.
Please keep us in your most … (12 comments)

rain: Driving tips in wet weather - 12/07/09 04:14 PM

California needed rain and we got plenty today. Fortunately, its in the forecast for a few more days this week. But while you are making your daily commute, please remember to drive safely in the wet weather.
-Slow down, it takes longer to stop in wet weather
-Increase your distance behind cars in front of you
-Turn your headlights on
-Try to stay in the middle lanes, water tends to pool in the outer ones

rain: Rains Over but Ideas for next Season Inspire... - 05/03/08 08:34 AM
Rainy season never lasts long in California and we always look for a solution or some help in the area of water conservation.  Here are several great ideas to consider for next year...
A "rain chain" can create a visual impact as it guides water down from a gutter and downspout thru a series of decorative cups and dumps into a basin for use later in gardens.  Visit rainchains.com for some examples and ideas.  They can save you water and look great.
Gutters and downspouts are a necessity in any home but remember not to let water accumulate near the base of the foundation.  … (3 comments)
