5 Ways to Spend Your Lunch Hour
SUCCESS Magazine recently asked several entrepreneurs from the Young Entrepreneur Council to share how they get more out of their lunch hour each day. Here are five of their answers.
1. Unplug completely. When you give yourself a break to clear your head, you'll feel more energized and may get fresh ideas. Changing gears with a book, a funny podcast or inspiring interview can also help refresh your perspective, especially on hectic days.
2. Step away from the computer. While you eat, give yourself some quiet time to write … (8 comments)

sales: Everything Buyers with Caruso! - 03/28/12 08:22 AM

Buying a home can be stressful. As a real estate agent, you get to see home buyers at their best — that is, the joy they feel when they step into their new home. But you first usually have to see them at their worst — the stress and tension they may feel in trying to find that perfect house. That puts you in role as adviser, friend, and counselor.

As a salesperson, you might be wondering what your customers really think about the home-buying process, and what, exactly, they expect from you beyond helping them find that … (0 comments)

On the 5th Day of Christmas Caruso Sent to Me – 5 Fundamentals of Real Estate Marketing.

Real estate marketing is based on fundamentals which are often overlooked because real estate sales are considered by many people to be sales work. It is actually marketing because the customer cannot be sold until the real estate agency understands the customer, and what the customer wants.
1. The first Fundamental is Research. Effective marketing requires thorough research, and it is difficult to do too much research. Research is the first and most important of the fundamentals because it is … (1 comments)

sales: How Does the S & P Downgrade Affect Your Real Estate Business? - 08/07/11 07:57 AM

Timing is everything and the S & P downgrade of our governments credit rating was announced after a whipsaw market day on Friday.  How is that for timing?  What would have happened if it were announced earlier in the day?  Or, was the whisper of it what drove the market all day on Friday?
Have you thought about how this will affect your business?
Well, any time the markets have corrections it affects the wealth factor for Americans and their resulting sentiment.  What about people who say "I don't play the stock market".  Guess what...if their employer provides a 401K … (4 comments)

*If your milk comes in a cardboard container, add a few drops of food coloring, the results are pretty colorful.
*If you have a sink with a sprayer, put a rubber band around the handle. This automatically keeps the nozzle in spray-mode. Make sure the nozzle is pointing up and outward. The next person to use the sink will get a splash

sales: Caruso's Top 3 - 03/30/10 05:06 AM

Since starting in real estate years ago I have come to conclusion that buying a home is one of the biggest decisions an individual can make. So it's understandable that one considering a home purchase may take their time to avoid rushing into such a large financial commitment. However, several factors might leave prospective home buyers who don't purchase a property now wishing they had taken action sooner.
"Current market conditions have created a perfect storm of sorts that has made it an ideal time to purchase for first-time and trade-up buyers alike," said James M. Weichert, president and founder of Weichert, Realtors. … (7 comments)

sales: Caruso's Recession Update! - 03/27/10 05:35 AM

Is the recession finally coming to an end? According to Forbes.com the housing crisis is finally stabilizing in 5 cities, and the job outlook is positive.
In recent weeks business in Washington, D.C. ground to a halt as record snowfalls pummeled the area and a sparring match over national health care reform hijacked the political conversation. But the nation's capital is getting something right: It is emerging from the recession better than any other major city in the country, according to research by Forbes.
Jobs in Washington are growing quickly, and in 2008 the city produced more in goods and … (2 comments)

sales: Caruso's Facts - 03/25/10 05:49 AM

As seen in The New York Times, David Streitfeld goes into detail on the program that will pay homeowners to sell at a loss.
In an effort to end the foreclosure crisis, the Obama administration has been trying to keep defaulting owners in their homes. Now it will take a new approach: paying some of them to leave.
This latest program, which will allow owners to sell for less than they owe and will give them a little cash to speed them on their way, is one of the administration's most aggressive attempts to grapple with a problem that has … (2 comments)

sales: Caruso's Mortgage Update - 03/24/10 05:36 AM

As seen in The Wall Street Journal, James R Hagerty explores mortgage rates and the fear that even a small increase could hurt a still-fragile housing market.
As the Federal Reserve winds down its intervention in the mortgage market, rates on home loans are generally expected to rise at least modestly during the rest of this year from today's unusually low levels. Some analysts believe mortgage rates will jump to around 6% by year end from 5% in recent weeks, while others see only a slight increase.
Meanwhile, federal tax credits available for some home buyers are due to expire at the end … (3 comments)

Nab a real estate deal - while you still can
