tips: Caruso Says ACT NOW! - 01/18/12 06:33 AM

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S. Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business.

Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.
PIPA would give the government new powers to block Americans' access websites that corporations don't like. The bill allows corporations and the US government to censor entire websites and cut sites … (0 comments)

tips: Caruso Never Sleeps ~ Breathe Easy - 01/13/12 09:26 AM

Breathe easier this winter & know how to spot carbon monoxide. Even though you can’t see, taste or even smell carbon monoxide, this harmful gas can rob you of oxygen, causing serious illness or even death!

First Prevent It! Carbon monoxide is formed when carbon-based fuels such as oil, gasoline, propane or natural gas don’t burn completely. To help prevent carbon monoxide form being produced, keep your natural gas appliances in good working order. This includes an annual checkup of your gas furnace. Or you can schedule a checkup by calling a licensed qualified heating or plumbing contractor.

tips: The List... - 12/30/11 10:59 AM

Buyers have a long list of what they want when home shopping, but one of their biggest desires: A good deal. "And no matter where a seller prices their property, they’re looking to negotiate," president of the MetroTex Association of Realtors, and having served as past President of the Orange County Association I agree.
But that’s not all they want. Bankrate.com recently asked real estate professionals to chime in on the top desires of their buyers when home shopping. Here are four things that made the list of top home buyer preferences:
1) Homes that are in good … (1 comments)

tips: Caruso's on the 5th Day of Christmas – Fundamentals of Real Estate Marketing. - 12/19/11 01:08 PM

On the 5th Day of Christmas Caruso Sent to Me – 5 Fundamentals of Real Estate Marketing.

Real estate marketing is based on fundamentals which are often overlooked because real estate sales are considered by many people to be sales work. It is actually marketing because the customer cannot be sold until the real estate agency understands the customer, and what the customer wants.
1. The first Fundamental is Research. Effective marketing requires thorough research, and it is difficult to do too much research. Research is the first and most important of the fundamentals because it is … (1 comments)

tips: Caruso's 12 Days of Christmas ~ Day 3 - 12/16/11 05:48 AM

On the 3rd Day of Christmas, Caruso Gave to Me – 3 Real Estate Marketing Errors!
Frequent Blunder #1: Focusing a great deal of effort on “branding.” Branding purely works for big companies like Coke and Pepsi. Despite the fact that Realtors as well as brokers think that they are really strengthening name recognition, generally branding is not very successful.
Of course, I am not alleging you should forget it totally. Even so, you have to be far more focused on obtaining a response from your own consumers when compared with spending time and funds on producing radio, newspaper … (1 comments)

Are you familiar with the new DRE Continuing Education changes coming January 1, 2011 for California?
The DRE wanted to make Continuing Education more professional and thus the amount of reading material for at-home courses will increase and final exams will increase in difficulty, with less true and false questions and less time to answer questions. Online testing has changed significantly as well.
Also, please remember that nicknames are permitted on business cards because license numbers are required on new licensee cards. The license number must be the same size as all other fonts.

tips: READ THIS before you cook for Thanksgiving! - 11/24/10 06:48 AM
Keep your family and friends safe and healthy with these important tips from the USDA.
DON'T: Store warm leftovers in large containers - they won't cool fast enough to kill bacteria
DON'T: Serve undercooked (or raw) eggs...make sure stuffing is all the way heated to at least 165 degrees
DON'T: Wash meats - this can increase the risk of spreading bacteria (news to me!)
DON'T: Thaw frozen food at room temperature
DO: Thaw by refrigerating...6hrs per pound

tips: Caruso's Green Tip of the Day! - 07/08/10 06:19 AM

Ceiling Fans vs Air Conditioners Instead of running an air conditioner at a cost of 16 cents per hour or 43 cents per hour for central air, use a ceiling fan. However, if you use an air conditioner, select an ENERGY STAR variety, which will save 20 to 40 percent in energy consumption as compared with conventional air conditioners. And that's your Caruso green tip of the day!

The real estate profession changes every day, but the qualities you find in top-performing practitioners do not. The details may shift as technology rolls forward, yet the underlying skills are always the same. Here are some suggestions to help you be successful in any market.
~Meeting New People
The simple fact is that if you never meet anyone new, you will never have anyone new to sell to. Whether you encounter them for the first time in person, online, or over the phone doesn't matter. Get one-on-one with them in a conversation about their needs, and you've at least … (3 comments)

tips: Caruso Says.... - 04/14/10 05:13 AM

Life is hectic. Sometimes we're so focused on our jobs and everyday life that we don't just stop and sit for a moment. There are different reasons why we get so caught up in our daily lives but we need to remember that it is always important to take some time for yourself and relax. Some managers and business owners skipped their vacations last year (and maybe the year before) because they felt the operation couldn't run without them. It's not a good idea for several reasons. First, everyone needs time off to relax and recharge. Second, those who are next in line to … (6 comments)

tips: Homebuying with Caruso - 04/13/10 05:10 AM

Going Solo ~Buying a house is a complex transaction. It should be a team effort. You'll need a real estate agent, lender, inspector, insurer, perhaps a lawyer and other team members to help you through each step of the way. Team build before you start the search.
Love at First Sight ~If you believe in fairy tales you probably shouldn't be buying a home. You won't live happily ever after if you emote your way through the home buying process. Your home should fit your real needs, not your yen for drama. Buy a home that fits your budget and … (3 comments)
