For many years I have embraced competition and understood it to be part and parcel of the wonderful free market system. Early on in the Web 2.0 era many of my peers looked with disdain at the likes of national portals like Zillow or a Trulia. Once I laid eyes on the tools and the amount of information consumers could obtain from the Trulia real estate search web site, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and take advantage of what they were offering.
Trulia Serves It Up on a Silver Plater!

In case you missed it, the LG Real Estate team grabbed many of the Cary real estate market data images "available" at Trulia and easily added those little goodies to our Cary Real Estate website. Now our Cary home buying and selling consumers can easily access the same real-time data found at Trulia without ever leaving our Cary Homes website.

Everyone loves to have access to an "insider's perspective" no matter if it's tips to hanging on to your precious retirement account in the midst of financial market upheaval or preparing your home for your area's real estate market. In fact, one of my favorite lines comes from the movie Ratatouille where the food critic "Anton Ego" (played by Peter O'Toole) looks at chef Linguini and ask for a little "fresh perspective". What a delicious line! (sorry-I couldn't resist)
Let the Cary Home Transformation Begin!
Now you know the motivation behind our series of blog post at the Cary real estate blog on preparing your home for the market. If you recall from my last CaryHomesNC/Active Rain post, I posted that our Cary real estate staff member, Jennifer Grinter would be taking you step-by-step through each phase of transaforming her Cary home for our local Triangle real estate market. Let's face facts, when anyone (including real estate agents) first considers selling their home it is a given it is in no shape for the real estate market. There is much to be done before the lockbox is placed on the frontdoor and the for sale sign is ever planted in the front yard. Jennifer does a wonderful job walking her readers through each phase of getting her personal home located at 108 Fairchild Downs Place in Cary, NC ready for the Triangle real estate market.

Ok admit it, if you're like me you eat, sleep, and breathe real estate 24/7. Even during our "downtime" (what is that?) we watch real estate on TV! Well, we have an idea for you that even HGTV would love!
An Insider's Perspective on Prepping Your Cary Home
Recently, one of our Cary Real Estate staff members, Jennifer Grinter, decided to prepare her home to list it on the Cary real estate market. During one of our LG Real Estate staff meetings, we gave this news a good mulling over and asked how could this experience bring value and benefit to our past clients, current clients and those who will become an LG Real Estate client in the future. As if we all had a "simultaneous epiphany", we collectively shouted - BLOG ABOUT IT IN OUR CARY AREA REAL ESTATE BLOG!
What a Great Idea!
We all agreed this would be an excellent opportunity to share useful, real-world home preparation information from an insider's perspective! Obviously, Jennifer had to be the one to post about her personal experiences of getting her Cary home ready for the market. With that said, over the next several weeks Jennifer will be "journaling" her "Cary homework". It will provide our readers a unique "first-hand" perspective on the many task that lie ahead in preparation for marketing Jennifer's Cary area home. We invite you to take a peek at her first Cary Area Real Estate Blog post. We think you will agree this is one of those "win-win" ideas for blogging and a great opportunity to share practical home preparation advice too!
What are your thoughts about this idea?

When rare events of human loss and violence occur in our tight-knit community of Cary, NC, our neighbors really know how to show their true colors. The Cary community spirit unites our citizens together to support one another in marvelous ways with randome acts of kindness and support in the rare times like these. While our city is one of the safest cities in the state of North Carolina, we are not immune to tragic events.
Tragedy Comes Home to Cary
Last week a local Cary resident was murdered near one of our more popular Cary neighborhoods while she was out for a morning jog. The Police Chief of Cary stated shortly after the investigation began that this event was an "isolated incident" and not some random act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family members who are dealing with this tragedy
Outpouring of Support
My purpose for writing this post is not to focus on this horrible act but to shine the spotlight on the incredible outpouring of love, compassion and support this community has the capacity to convey. While we all wish we lived in a bubble shielded from the realities of violence and human tragedy, we can take some semblance of solace knowing when bad things happen, the residents of Cary are at the ready to step in to provide a sensitive shoulder of support.
Public Memorial Service
As I stated eariler, our hearts and prayers go out to the Rentz/Cooper family. The family held a public memorial service on Saturday July 19th at Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park in Cary.
Please continue hold this dear family in your thoughts and prayers.

Recently I asked Cathy Richmond, an expert with LRC Indoor Testing and Research, to guest post on my Cary Real Estate Blog on the topic of indoor inspection and research of mold in your Cary home. The information provided by Cathy is so uber important, I decided to share it with all my Active Rain friends as well as those consumers who read this post at Localism.
How Weather in Cary, NC Provides the Perfect Environment for the Production of Mold
There are tale tell signs to be on the lookout for mold in your Cary home. Because the weather in our city tends to be damp in the spring and fall, plus we suffer from high humidity, that is the perfect storm for the production of mold spores. The crawl space and wall cavities of your Cary home are the most optimum places for mold spore production to occur according to Cathy.
A Word to the Wise for Would be Cary Home Sellers!
Cary homeowners who are thinking about selling your Cary home should vigilent to have your home inspected prior to placing your Cary property on the market especially if you have detected evidence of mold in your crawl space. This is easpecially true if any area your Cary home is exposed to moisture.
For the complete story on this timely topic, be sure to read the rest of the story on my Cary Real Estate Blog now!

As someone who has arrived a little late to the blogging party, I now realize the value of investing our time and our resources to write a blog. In fact, I believe in the power of the real estate blog so much our LG Real Estate Team now staffs two portals (AR & our Cary Area Real Estate Blog) to provide valuable information to Cary home buyers and sellers. Yes - I have tasted of the blogging kool-aid and it is GOOD!
Why Select a Cary Real Estate Agent Who Blogs?
So Cary home buyers and sellers, here are a few excellent reasons why it is in your best interest to select a Cary real estate agent who blogs.
-
Consumers may not necessarily need more information, they just need it organized better and delivered
from a knowledgeable resource who is an experienced area expert.
-
Todays' really sharp Cary real estate agents who blog are more than sales people with a license to transact property who happen to write real estate articles. Truly successful real estate professionals are expert marketers, have a solid business acumen, possess excellent listening skills, understand the power of the Internet and use it creatively to help buyers and sellers succeed.
-
Real estate bloggers help connect people to a community by painting a picture of the essence of a neighborhood with words in very comfortable, non-threatening language.
-
Effective real estate agent bloggers also provide the latest technology tools to enhance the site visitors experience using tools like podcasting, videos, Google maps and other resources to help the consumer better relate to a topic or area. While we have yet to implement all of these technology tools, these technologies are on our radar and a major part of our team's efforts to provide our clients and future consumers more resources to be better informed buyers and sellers.
- I've come to understand that to be a compotent real estate blogger, you must be a reader of blogs as well.
-
Really good real estate bloggers know when to tap into other resources to help carry the load. In our latest Cary Area Real Estate blog post, we invited our mortgage partner to write a guest post. This helps our readers by providing information on a timely subject from a different perspective, again delivered by a local subject matter expert.
- The benefit to me and the LG Real Estate Team is that blogging helps grow our online presence and connects consumers to our Cary Area Real Estate website.
Blogging Helps You Grow as a Person
There is another facet of blogging that I have recently come to realize - blogging helps me grow as a person and enables me to better communicate my value to my market. If you are thinking about buying or selling Cary real estate, I encourage to read our blog and get to know our wonderful area of Cary, North Carolina.
Consumers, how have real estate blogs helped you succeed? Friends and colleagues, how has blogging made a difference in your world? I'm eager to read your comments.
