Dr. Roger Tutterow, Professor of Economics, Mercer University recently gave an address to the Henry Council for Quality Growth. He's a great speaker for an economist! Here are some highlights of his address: -The recession ended last year! That means things have stopped getting worse. The economy is growing, but it takes years to recover. It will take 42 months to get back to our old employment levels once we are adding our old level of 200,000 new, private sector jobs per month rate. Stats are out for October home sales. Overall, sales were down 8% from September. Here are some highlights: Price range Inventory level Sales level $100,000-200,000 Down by 20 Down by 4 $200,000-300,000 Up by 6 Unchanged $300,000-500,000 Down by 17 Down by 3 $500,000-800,000 Down by 9 Down by 1 $800,000-1,000,000 Up by 5 Unchanged at 0 $1,000,000 & up Up by 1 Unchanged at 0 Overall Change +3.5% -8% Active listings have an average days on market of 136. Sold listings have an average days on market of 81. Average sales price was $123,073, median price was $103,500, & high price was $450,000. (1 comments)

Continuing research on homes sales in my area, I studied the golf course communities in Henry County. The study was done for a period of 180 days back from the end of October.
