One of the jobs I have done in the past as my parent's virtual assistant is submit our real estate website to directories for the purpose of generating inbound links as well as deep linking. I'm here to tell ya directory linking for SEO purposes is pretty much dead, unless you want to pay for featured spots. Looking at probably the most credible directory out there, DMOZ, you can see our www.joelane.com website link (see "Joe & Colleen Lane - River Realty") on this page is 'grey-barred' using Google's toolbar (foolbar).
