I used to say "I will try to ..." but recently a mentor said this..... "There is no such thing as 'try' either you 'will' or you won't. That sounds kind of harsh but think about it..... I will try to meet more people. I will try to learn more technology. I will try out for cheer leading. I will try to get better grades. Here is what is wrong with every one of those statements: They lack an action plan. If you create an action plan you will accomplish what you want. I have to admit that I am a nut when it comes to blog headers. I get kind of wrapped up in aesthetics. Making it worse, I recently was given a copy of Adobe Illustrator which I somewhat know how to use. I have a new header & hopefully it communicates better to my readers inside and outside of ActiveRain, what I offer. I think the old one overemphasized what people (24 comments)

If I hear one more custom home builder say that going green is a fad, is too expensive, or isn't what home owners want I'm going to SCREEEEEAAAAMMM!
If KB Homes can make homes energy efficient and net zero - anybody can! Our "affordable" home builders that build in the $100,000 - $150,000 range all say it's not practical!
Our small custom home builders that build in the $200,000 +/- say the same thing.
Maybe they just aren't trying hard enough?

When my kids attended Braun Station we ALWAYS volunteered to help with this "old school" school carnival. When my kids moved on to middle school they STILL insisted on going, I just didn't have to volunteer. Now that my kids are in high school, they STILLLLL insist on going, and still not have to volunteer, but maybe I will. One of my favorite ways to pay tribute to our soldiers is to participate in "Operation Home-Cooking." My father started this tradition in our home back in the 1970s when I was just a little girl. We used to have soldiers at our house that would have otherwise spent their family day alone, at the "chow hall." My dad would bring home 2-3 young men so they could enjoy family, food, and a little R&R. My husband served too, USAF. When we married we started doing the same thing. It's my 1st TAR Realtor Convention and I'm excited! PART 1 I got off to a great start - I found parking adjacent to the convention center, and it was only $5.00! When you need to park at the Austin Convention Center, just park on Ceasar Chavez & Red River. Alternatively, you can park on Ceasr Chavez & Trinity for $6 but it is a much smaller lot and no parking attendant. I attended the game last weekend and spend an hour looking for a parking lot. Besides this option there are a few more that surround the area. I love Oktoberfest! It reminds me of living in Ramstein, Germany back in the 1970's! The cold weather and volks-marches were so wonderful. San Antonio is rich in heritage and has a double dose of German given it was settled by Germans in the 1800s. Fredericksburg is just about an hour's drive from here but well worth it! I'm a University of Texas San Antonio Road Runner Alumni and am very proud to announce that our inaugural football year is a TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! UTSA: 31 NSU - 3 Northeast State University We won our first game, and boy it was FUN! The ENERGY was amazing, the SPIRIT was LOUD, and our BOYS WERE READY to KICK some BUTT!!! The City of San Antonio, a city of 1.33 Million people hasn't had a big college team, until now. The city was craving it; we had a RECORD BREAKING 56,743 attendance - the highest attendance EVER for a college (5 comments)
