Many of my friends and colleagues know that I am singer in addition to being a REALTOR. As expected, the DC area is host to numerous commemorative concerts and performances in the coming days. things to do in washington: Annual Cherry Blossom Festival Begins Today - 03/26/11 01:32 PM
Its 37 chilly degrees, there's a nice breeze a-blowin' and that can only mean one thing- The Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is here! At least the sun is out. But this is Washington folks, and this is how we do it. The National Park Service predicted the peak blooming period for the Cherry Blossoms this year to be is March 29 - April 3. But Park Service horticulturist and cherry tree expert Rob DeFeo amended that prediction and has shortened it by two days. things to do in washington: Shenandoah - Skyline Drive, peace and tranquility is just an hour away - 05/26/08 04:28 PM
I have been living in the DC area now for almost 12 years. Every year, one of my favorite things to do is to take the short trip down to Skyline Drive, in the Shenandoah National Park, and spend time in the sun. Yesterday, the weather was perfect for just such a trip. We left the house at 1pm. Kind of a late start, but Skyline is just an hour away, so we still had plenty of daylight ahead. For us, its 11 miles down the Fairfax County Parkway to I-66, head east to Front Royal, and enter Skyline Drive just

things to do in washington: Exercising Your Brain - 05/19/08 02:34 PM
I'm going to break from the usual format and talk about what I did this weekend in DC. My spouse and I braved the cold and rainy day and participated in the First Annual Washington Post Hunt. This event can best be described as an intellectual scavenger hunt of sorts. This event has also been going on for 20 years down in Miami, and its creators decided to bring it to Washington. Its creators of course are Gene Weingarten, Dave Barry (Pulitzer Prize winning journalists) and Tom Schroder, editor of the Washington Post Magazine. I was already somewhat familiar with
