Gordon Corsie wrote a really good piece this morning breaking down "what happened" to the Real Estate Market. To the seasoned professional, this analysis is not new. But I think it's really important to remind everyone as to the "how's" and "why's" of our Market today.
It's like this, when you know where the "monster" is, it's a lot less scary.
QUESTION: Why aren't homes selling like they did before?

In the biz we talk about market averages in terms of bedrooms, baths, square footage, garages, lot size, price, etc. Ever wonder what these average homes look like across the country? I do!
As of this instant there are 12,978 homes actively for sale Sacramento's MLS... The average home is offered at $350,000 and features 3bd, 2.5ba, about 1800sf, and have been on the market for about 67 days.
...And the most average of alllll the homes on the market right now in the Sacramento and her surrounding suburbs for October 3, 2007 is...
