Whenever a prospective home buyer hears the words "lease-to-own" or "rent-to-own" the think it's an easy way for someone with bad credit to buy a home. That couldn't be further from the truth. While lease-to-own is an option for those with less than perfect credit, a tenant/buyer must still meet certain qualifying criteria. Remember, the goal is to be able to purchase the home with permanent financing as soon as possible. In Texas, you typically have about 6 months to make this happen under a LTO option. first time buyers: An Alternative to NACA for First Time Buyers - 02/17/11 08:42 PM
Quite some time ago I started what would have been a series entiteld Diary of a NACA Homebuyer: A Realtor's Tale Pt 1. The first, and only, blog post started like this: "I have been an advocate of the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) loan program for just over a year. For the life of me, I can't understand why trying to get clients to check out the NACA program is like offering a free root canal. At a time when mortgage loans are "slim pickings," if someone were offering me the opportunity to get a home loan with NO (0 comments)
