I keep hearing people complain about the Compass Rose Park on Pope Avenue & New Orleans Rd. I wonder if the people who are complaining have been to the park. If they had been to the park I don’t believe they would be complaining. The Town of Hilton Head Island and Ed Drain did a wonderful job with designing and building the park. The landscaping has begun to mature and will only get better with time. A recent article in our local Island Packet indicated that the Sea Pines Country Club was suing CSA (Community Service Association) which is in essence the Sea Pines Property Owners Company that maintains our covenants, elects a board and oversees all aspects of common properties and especially security. The lawsuit is about being charged a $5.00 gate fee for non-residents attending functions at the Club.
The CSA board is comprised of 4 groups: ASPPO (Association of Sea Pines Property Owners), Sea Pines Company (or assigns, Riverstone Group), CSA and Commercial Property Owners (Harbour Town, South Beach, and Sea Pines Center) The … (0 comments)

Do we really want the Town of Hilton Head buying more properties on and off the island? I for one don't believe we need to buy more land. Let me tell you why!
