Over the last couple of years the word "foreclosure" has increasingly become a part of our daily vernacular. Turn on any one of the many local or national news channels and you are sure to see a story documenting the demise of the real estate market. You will be shown pictures of empty homes with unkept yards and real estate signs, which say "Bank Owned" or "REO". The commentator will most likely mention that foreclosure rates are at an all time historical high and are not showing any signs of dropping significantly in the near future.
