speechless sunday: Wordless Wednesday: The Last Butterfly - 11/30/11 02:45 PM
Well, here we are the cold is here again.  But before it starts to get really cold, I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of one last butterfly.  This Red Admiral was kind enough to stay perched on my dying marigolds while I ran inside to grab my camera.  
I guess I can't complain too much about the weather.  At least we actually had fall this year instead of going straight from warm summer temperatures to freezing cold snow as it seems we do so often.  :)

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Flowers in my Butterfly Patch - 07/24/11 09:54 PM
Anyone know what type of flowers these are?  
I planted a little patch of flowers (bag said Hummingbird/Butterfly mix) about 6 weeks ago, and boy did they grow like weeds!  I don't really know what flowers in this patch the hummies would like, but I'm hoping to attract some butterflies.  Last year we had tons of butterflies, this year...not so much...wonder why...Even a keeper at a local butterfly garden on the news said there have not been as many butterflies as usual...Wonder if it's because of the extreme heat we've been having so far this summer...

I don't have human kids but thought I'd post some pics of my furry little girls. :)  I took this picture earlier this spring on a day when the weather was fantabulous!  And yes I really did need to cut the grass because some of the pictures I took that day made it look as if they were in a field somewhere, LOL!

Couldn't get a good shot because I was hiding behind the door as I tried to capture this bunny in my front flower bed.  It was nice to see the bunny as they (and the deer) have become scarce thanks to the vinyl village next to my neighborhood that destroyed a once nicely wooded area...
