Big Crowds turn Out for Famous Dave’s BBQ Opening in Reno - 03/28/11 09:52 PM
Big crowds turned out for the grand opening of the first Famous Dave’s franchise in Northern Nevada, which opened in Reno, Nevada on Monday, March 28, 2011. The restaurant can be found at 4925 Kietzke Lane just off U.S. 395 freeway, the former Hollywood Video site. Opening just before 11am, they were filled to capacity by noon. Famous Dave’s is best known for its barbecue, notably sandwiches and ribs with their secret sauces. There are currently 181 stores nationwide with the name: Famous Dave’s of America Inc. The Reno site of Famous Dave’s is 6,600-square-feet and employs 168 people so far.

On St Patrick's Day, it seems that everyone is Irish. This Thursday, March 17, 2011 is St Patrick's Day. Of course, Reno will be celebrating along with everyone else across the country. Some of the fun St Patrick's Day events in Reno are: 2nd Annual Shamrock Shave - Ole Bridge Pub (50 N Sierra St #5, Reno, NV), 11am. Safety Rules for Pedestrians and Bicyclists in Reno - 03/07/11 03:45 PM
The Reno Police Department recently announced that they will be out on Reno roads throughout March to help educate pedestrians and bicyclists to the rules of the road. If either one isn't following safety precautions, they will receive a ticket just like any motorist would. Since one-third of Reno's traffic-related deaths in 2010 were outside of a motor vehicle, it's important to know the safety rules for pedestrians and bicyclists in Reno. Be Seen - Whether during the day or at night, on a bicycle or walking around, you need to wear clothing that can easily be seen by Reno motorists.
