On Saturday, March 3, 2012, the Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society (AWCMS) will be holding its 61st annual Physicians' Spouses Rummage Sale in Reno. From 8am to 4pm, over 20,000 square feet of the Livestock Events Center Exhibit Hall, located at 1350 N Wells Avenue in Reno, will be filled with toys, art, clothes, housewares, furniture, sporting equipment and more. All funds raised from this event will be distributed by the AWCMS to local Reno community programs as well as nursing school scholarships.

Northstar California Resort will be hosting its annual amateur snowboard contest near Reno on February 25, 2012. The resort, located at 5001 Northstar Dr in Truckee, CA, is the fifth stop of TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine's TransAM series. Northstar California is just one of six resorts across the country that is deemed worthy of holding the magazine's contest to find the best amateur snowboarders in the country.
