Looking for a little family fun on a Friday evening? How about the Redneck Rodeo in Reno this Friday, June 1, 2012? The Grand Sierra Resort & Casino right here in Reno will be hosting a drive-in movie night/truck show combo that is sure to be fun for everyone! The Billy Crystal classic "City Slickers" is the feature pic of the evening. Anyone who shows up can participate in the truck show. Registration will take place from 4-6pm on the night of the event. This year, the Reno River Festival will be held in June instead of May, like it has in years past. So, if you were worried you might have missed it or it was canceled, you don't need to fret. There will be diving dogs, a dog jog, Stand Up Paddle Board Race, the Run Amuck relay and a charity raft race as well as other fun events throughout the weekend of June 15-17, 2012 at Truckee River Whitewater Park. Formerly called "Chili on the Comstock", the 29th annual Virginia City Chili Cook-Off, aka "Fire on the Mountain", has changed more than its name. This year, the chili cook-off has expanded from just one day to an entire weekend and now includes the Celtic celebration of May known as the Beltane Festival.
