Thank you Nina Rogoff for the great post. It is only on a rare occasion that I re-blog. This one qualifies. Gimmicks may serve to confuse the selling public, hurting us all in the long run by complicating the process.
Tried and true methods yield results...always.

Potato chips, real estate and inspiration. - 12/15/10 12:16 AM
Years ago during one of my first seasons away from home in northern New England, a friend invited me home to share a Holiday with her family. When we arrived at the family home I was quick to notice things were a bit different there than in the very modest home I grew up in. There was love there and genuine warmth, no pretense, however the trappings of success couldn't be missed. Her folks were what I call sturdy hardworking folks with good values, not unlike my own parents in that regard.

Have it your way.
Maybe you're thinking man alive, I'd like to have things my way. I think that way too at times, and then I remember how it really goes.
You know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking you are having it your way, and I'm having it my way too. Given that you and I are of able body and (a relatively sound) mind that is. Major tragedy aside, we are free to create our own way...and so we do everyday. I know this is not necessarily what anyone wants to hear when things are not going well. Fear of failure equals fear of success. Yes the two are the same. Identical. Are you foolishly thinking that no one fears success? If you are afraid of failure you are afraid of success. Think about it. Many authors have outlined the 'downside' of success. For example, will you find your self alienated from your peers when you financially tower over them ? Will success take you far from the familiar in other regards? Yes, success does indeed change things. It is often said that it is lonely at the top, no problem I'll deal with it when the time comes!

There is so much conversation about the current real estate market that focuses on when the market will rebound. How much does it really matter though? Why does it matter and to whom? Are you interested in making real estate a wealth builder or are you riddled with fear over timing. Every type of market has it's advantages and disadvantages for investors.
