Quotes of the Day - 30 Aug 2010 - 07/30/10 05:21 PM
"Temperament lies behind mood: behind will, lies the fate of character. Then behind both, the influence of family the tyranny of culture; and finally the power of climate and environment; and we are free, only to the extent we rise above these." - John Burroughs "Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal: my strength lies soley in my tenacity." - Louis Pasteur "The chief pang of most trials is not so much the actual suffering itself as our own spirit of resistance to

Top 12 Health Tips for Busy On-The-Go Real Estate Professionals - 07/30/10 12:50 AM
Great tips to stay healthy! Via Lauren Bernstein (ActiveRain): For five years I worked in outside sales and spent half the month on the road. A typical month included 1,500 miles behind the wheel and 5,000 miles in the air. Even though I was excelling in my field, I was constantly tired, sometimes moody and always craving sugar (I became wildly addicted to homemade yogurt covered pretzels and "energy" bars). I fell out of balance and I knew that something had to change. It is easy to neglect our own health and well being with life's many distractions: work, family, friends,

Pickett Bridge Recreation Area - Mount Pleasant SC - 07/27/10 02:41 PM
Pickett Bridge Recreation Area - Mount Pleasant SC It is amazing to me that you can live in an area for such a long time and are still able to discover something new. Such was the case for me a few weeks ago while taking pictures in The Old Village in Mount Pleasant. As I strolled east on Pitt Street, I came across what I thought was going to be a dead end. Instead I stumbled upon the Pickett Bridge Recreation Area. The Pickett Bridge Recreation Area is the remnants of what use to be the Pitt Street Bridge. The

Top 10 Credit Don'ts When Buying a Home - 07/23/10 04:42 PM
Oh, the perplexing world of credit. I must confess that there are times that the rules of what raises and lowers your credit score baffles me. The one thing I am certain of is that you should guard your credit score with righteous fervor, at least until you win the lottery and can afford to buy everything with cash. Your credit is part of your buying power. This active guardianship is even more important once you are in the process of buying a home. Leading nationwide credit expert and President of Credit Resource Corporation, Linda Ferrari, developed the top 10

Quotes of the Day - 21 Jul 2010 - 07/21/10 04:00 PM
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful." - C.S. Lewis "Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother." - Kahlil Gibran "When we seek to discover the best in other, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves." - William Arthur Ward

What is a Bedroom? The Great Debate! - 07/20/10 02:42 PM
What is a Bedroom? A few weeks ago some fellow agents and I were touring some of our newest office listings. Somehow during that time the conversation came up about what qualifies as a bedroom. I, in all my wisdom and knowledge, chimed in that it has to have a closet. A few of the others protested and stated that a closet does not factor in when determining if a room is a bedroom. I'm not sure where I learned the rule of a closet defining a bedroom (probably real estate school) but I felt confident I was correct. We debated

Quotes of the Day - Disney Toons - 07/19/10 01:55 PM
Today is my first day back in the office after a week' long "vacation" at Disney World in Florida last week. I say "vacation" because I may need a vacation from my "vacation." I have a 5 year old daughter and a one year old daughter. Our family really had a blast but we are exhausted. Here are some Disney/Pixar inspired quotes in ode to our Disney Trip. Quotes of the Day "No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay

Homeownership: As American As Apple Pie - 07/02/10 03:12 PM
Via Chrissy Doremus ~ U.S. Inspect ~ Home Inspections (U.S. Inspect): Homeownership, for many, is a big part of what we like to call, “The American Dream.” In the 1950s that dream consisted of a house, a dog, 2.5 kids and apple pie--I’m not sure a contemporary definition of the phrase would change all that much. Homeownership is still at the center of the American way and has become for many the highest expression of our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. And for that reason, you might say that working in real estate is very...well, Patriotic :) So
