One of the many great things about living in the Metro Charleston SC Area is the numerous beautiful beaches in the area. The main shore of the Charleston metro is protected by barrier islands. These barrier islands wrap around the coastline of South Carolina making for the great beaches we enjoy.

Charleston SC is an amazing city. It is consistently voted in the Top 5 in tourists locations in the U.S. and nearly always voted as the nation's friendliest city. That which makes up Charleston is not just the downtown area that many are familiar with, but also the surrounding towns and city that make up the metropolitan. I've compiled a list of things to do that may be helpful if you should have the fortune of visiting our beautiful city.

Beach weather is in full swing in the lowcountry of Charleston SC. There are a host of beaches in the area but the more popular ones include, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island, Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Edisto Island.
The age group at all beaches is usually pretty mixed, but the younger crowd usually flock to Isle of Palms near the Windjammer or The Washout at Folly Beach (surfer's hangout).
