You're not a Realtor unless you know the market. Here's my list of things I pay attention to as a full-time Realtor.
 
•               Know the inventory. If you don't know every listing, at least know your area. In larger cities, become the expert in a particular location or neighborhood or specific area. And this includes FSBO's.  
•               Know the past. You should know what homes, condos, and townhomes sold when and for about how much. This knowledge should go back several years. This will help value … (52 comments)

If you visit a ski resort town in the middle of winter, you know it’s all about “staying on the mountain.” Well, if you’re going to live or invest in real estate here…for many it’s all about proximity to the mountain, or in one word: location. Pending Steamboat Springs Real Estate up 30% in two weeks.

 
One weeks ago, I wrote a blog about the noticeable increase in activity within the real estate market in and around Steamboat Springs, Colorado. See that blog here. And today, as I browse the MLS in Steamboat Springs, I realize this trend continues. It was a few weeks ago that our pending sales were around 60 properties. That’s a rather low number considering we have 2,097 properties for sale in Steamboat Springs.
