I have not been to Hilton Head for a while. But we are here for a much needed rest. Here are some observations. The place is wonderful and the people very nice. There has been an awful lot of building since the last time I was here. I cannot help but think a little less development would make the island even more attractive. Tomorrow morning , early 8 am, is the hope house tennis charity event here in Big Canoe. It is not an event to go to as we are all "club" players. But all courts are full. For many of you you have seen on TV the devastation that the ice storms this year caused. If you are in Big Canoe near the top or on Monument Road in Pickens and Dawson County you have seen downed power lines and snapped trees. It almost looks like a tornado has gone through the area. This brinks me to the point of the post. When you are choosing a location you do not have to live on the tip top of a mountain.
