blog: Charlottesville Blog - 03/05/08 03:49 PM
    CHARLOTTESVILLE BLOG
We have been trying to figure out the best way to communicate more effectively with our members and the public in Charlottesville.
We had a meeting today and it looks very likely that our local Charlottesville Association of Realtors will go forward with a 2 Blog program.
1. extending the current blog www.caarblog.com to open up more discussions with the community
and
2. starting an internal blog for agents only. This will be a format that will help to eliminate email messages and also give us a centralized location for member information.
So we are moving into the blogging world in Charlottesville. Watch out world, here … (11 comments)

blog: My Charlottesville Blog...Why the name? - 11/17/07 08:06 PM

When I started to work on my website I came up with a name that would be (what I thought) Easy to remember and something that related to Real Estate and of course Charlottesville (the area I work and live in).
So I came up with http://www.mycharlottesvilleagent.com/... Now I thought this was a good name and it seems to be fairly easy to remember... Maybe a little long, but Charlottesvillle is a long name to start with.
Fast forward and I get into Blogging... So the next step is to come up with a name for my Blog site. It took about 10 … (13 comments)

blog: LEND a HAND in ACTIVE RAIN!!! - 10/12/07 03:12 PM

On the "SURFACE" the Help in Active Rain may appear to be "Somewhat Lacking".
When you start, you can get overwhelmed just trying to make your way.
Then, once you start to learn the ropes, it gets easier and then you find out there is a lot more to learn.
The community of Active Rain, is full of people that are very helpful and have helped me along the way.
I want to say: THANK YOU, you know who you are!
I know that I do not have all the answers there are so many here … (43 comments)

blog: Jefferson's Ten Rules (for Real Estate?) - 10/08/07 10:48 AM

Thomas Jefferson has a wonderful list of 10 rules that is above my computer. These same rules can apply to Real Estate today or just our daily lives....
Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. -  As agents we can easily procrastinate. Make that call, send that email, Blog!!!
Never trouble another for what you can do yourself. - This is a call to action. Do not put things off for others if you are the one who is responsible for the outcome. Just take care of business!
Never spend money before you have earned it - Going into debt … (49 comments)

blog: LISTING AGENT - What are you thinking??? - 09/30/07 10:53 AM

When we work with our clients  (both as Listing Agents and as Buyers Agents) we work in the best interest of our clients.... AGREED? (If you do not agree, do not read any further)
I recently saw where a Listing Agent put the following comment into our MLS:
"Agents: NOW OFFERING A 10K AGENT BONUS with your broker's permission!!!"
As a LISTING AGENT, you need to look out for your sellers best interests. Is it truly in the sellers best interest to offer the buyers agent an additional $10,000.00 for doing their job? Might it not … (43 comments)

I believe this is my favorite time of year! The "Fall Colors" are about to show up in Charlottesville Virginia! Be ready for some WOW moments.
I want to thank all of my clients this year that bought or sold real estate in our area!

blog: LIMITED vs FULL SERVICE - 08/09/07 07:00 AM
Yesterday I had the "Limited Service" course we are required to take. I beleive this is Nationwide. What we are seeing as a Full Service Buyer agent is that we may have to actually do some of the work for the seller because they have elected to use a Limited Service Broker.
To work in the best interests of my Buyer, I need to accomidate these needs. Does this seem fair???

blog: When to BLOG - 08/08/07 06:25 AM
Ok, I am sure someone has figured this out on Active Rain. If I post a Blog in the morning I get fewer responces (currently 850 Online Member, see top right of your window). So does it make sense to just post in the evening when the Online members is much higher?
Of couse this assumes that you want others to reply to your blog....
