What is the 4th of July? Independence Day, a national holiday celebrated on the fourth day in July... to mark the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence from England. We also celebrate the 4th with fireworks, parades, barbeque's and just a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy the day with your family and friends! Note: Charlottesville Fireworks are not allowed in the city. Crozet has canceled the firework show, but McIntire Park is on as well as places like Keswick Estate and Farmington
