TOP 10 Stanford Dartmouth (Tuck) Harvard Chicago (Booth) Pennsylvania (Wharton) Columbia Cornell (Johnson) Northwestern (Kellogg) Virginia (Darden) Yale It is great that we made the top 10.
We are a quite area and do not really like a lot of publicity (I guess the University of Virginia does)....

Thursday March 19, 2009 will be hear soon. This is Match Day for UVA applicants!
Match Day marks the yearly culmination of the residency interview process coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The NMRP was established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States.
If you do not get the "residency program" you want you have a short period to get into another program.
Those of you that are "Matched" will want to consider purchasing a home or resident near The University of Virginia (UVA).

My response to her was "Stay positive and stay focused you are above the crowd just by being actively working on your business!"
Then it crossed my mind, something that I had seen recently, a statue here in Charlottesville Virginia at UVA...
Was it because BethAnn was from Washington State? I am not sure....It was this statue of George Washington!

When you are walking down a sidewalk do you ever wonder who else has walked there? Below is a photo of a sidewalk I took at the University of Virginia. These walkways were designed by Thomas Jefferson and built by his architects. There have been literally millions of feet on these walkways and many famous people.
Jefferson most likely and even people like Edgar Allen Poe (who attended the University)...
Oh yes and your Charlottesville Real Estate Agent, Charles McDonald has even walked these sidewalks!

So what is the history of UVA? The land was first owned by James Monroe...Read this marker:
So Monroe purchased this farm later Jefferson, Monroe and Madison laid the cornerstone of the University.
There is so much history around Charlottesville that many of our residents do not even realize it.
When I am showing Charlottesville Real Estate I will often stop by the University and do a "quick" tour. It is great to see our local history.
BTW, a walk around the campus can be both beneficial to your mind and body!

You have heard about them and here they are, the Garden Walls at UVA (University of Virginia).
As the plaque say,"these Garden Walls originally designed and built by Thomas Jefferson as part of his architectural plan for the University of Virginia were restored and enclosed gardens planted by the Garden Club of Virginia"
The beauty of these walls is the "serpentine" design!
I hope you get a chance to see these walls, they are a part of our History and a view into creative mind of Thomas Jeffereson!

When you are coming to school at UVA there is a lot of things that you need to take care of and one of them is Housing!

Today I get to do one of my favorite things! Show off Charlottesville!
We have the University of Virginia!
It is fabulous "grounds" with all it's beauty and history!
There is so much activity there, it is very exciting!
Then there is the Downtown walking mall with shops and nice places to eat. This is a must see if you like the small town feel!
A great place to stop at is the Mud House, a coffee shop on the downtown mall!
Watch for Christmas decorations this time of year!
Then there is the home of our Third President, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello!

Saturday is the game between The University of Virginia and Georgia Tech at Scott Stadium.
I am taking my son and my oldest Brother (who is visiting this week). It is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Football, hotdogs, yelling for the team!
Clients are on hold - I hope they understand.
This goes back to Perspective - Keeping things in perspective is important.
Spending time with my family is a priority!
I read posts from people who are blogging at midnight and then first thing in the morning.

FOOTBALL is Here and today UVA plays Duke in Charlottesville!
The games at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville are always a great time! Tailgating, meeting friends and football!
I see vehicles driving with flags and horns honking!
Any virtual bets? I will take UVA and give you 7 pts....
These are the days we do not drive to town and we can enjoy the game on TIVO... I love technology but it does not replace being there!
