The 3rd quarter market report came out to-daylooking at sales of homes in the area. The report was written by Dave Phillips, CEO of Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors. I'd like to share someof his comments with you. In his overview of the 3rd quarter he states, "The current real estate market is muchmore complex and variable than in past years. The definingmeasure of this market is not the slower pace of sales: rather the most dominating factor is the record level of homes for sale. We have currently an inventory of 72 homes available, both resale and new construction, compared to only 56 available at this time of year in 2006, & 47 in 2005. Price ranges with the most available inventory include $350,000 - $399,000 (13.89%) and $450,000 - $499,000 (13.89%), with homes ranging from $1,000,000 and up, only taking 6.9% of the market. Just wanted to let everyone knowabout this week-ends festivities at Wintergreen Resort, Virginia. It's time for the annual Oktoberfest. This is an event, celebrating German life, sponsered by the Wintergreen Performing Arts Association. It starts at 12 noon on September 22nd in a typical beer garden fashion, with all the associated goodies - band music, local microbreweries, wursts, brats, German Potaot salad & Kraut. There are also hot-dogs and hamburgers for those less adventurious souls. Admission is $15.00 adult and includes 5 tastings, and $5.00 for non drinkers (who get 2 root beers).

Im new to all this and have learnt a HUGE amount in the past few weeks! Iv'e found new web sites and been introduced to Widgets by Jeff Turner - a wonderfully patient man it seems. He got me through that learning process and mind you that was no easy feat (I'm not a computer grad - more a computer learning grandmother).
