helping others: Rebuilding Together Baltimore - 03/09/23 06:41 AM
Rebuilding Together Baltimore
For those who don't know Rebuilding Together, Baltimore is my charity of choice.  They are the charity I support on my birthday on Facebook and the charity I support through workplace donations.  Rebuilding Together helps underserved and income-challenged homeowners over 65 stay in their homes longer and age in place with necessary home repairs.
There are a number of ways you can help Rebuilding Together.  You can donate directly by visiting, by supporting their Amazon wishlist, and also through Target Circle.  They also have Tax Credits to offer, if you donate at least $500 you can receive 50% of your … (1 comments)

National Random Acts of Kindness Day - February 17
I saw this a few weeks ago and saved the graphic, so I can't take credit for that!!  And, I thought it made a great topic for a blog for today.
February 17 is National Random Acts of Kindness Day.  Here are a few great ideas on how you can make a difference in your little corner of the world.
Pay it forward and while you are in the drive-thru today, pay for the person behind you, give the cashier your business card so they can give it to the person in the vehicle … (3 comments)

Please Help the Bmore Kind Pet Food Bank
The Baltimore Humane Society runs the Bmore Kind Pet Food Bank and they need our help.
During these troubling times, many pet owners are struggling to feed both themselves and their pets and some are even having to relinquish their pets.  The Baltimore Humane Society has a food bank for those needing help feeding their best friends.  However, they are running short of food.  Please consider donating either cash or ordering pet food to be delivered directly to the Pet Food Bank, or if you are nearby you could drop some bags of pet food … (2 comments)

Active Rain Challenge - Offering Positivity and Support
What are we doing to help in our community?   Thanks for asking Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 - we both appreciate this challenge.
There is an old saying that comes to mind, when the going gets tough the tough get going (and I'm one tough old broad) meaning that when times are hard we buckle down and work harder to meet the challenge.  And, in times like these it's so much more important to meet this challenge head one so we can all get through.
Our office started with a Lemonade Bingo challenge for all the agents who wished to participate.  … (7 comments)

helping others: Giving Tuesday is the Beginning - 12/01/14 08:32 PM
Giving Tuesday is the Beginning
Today is giving Tuesday and so far I’ve been bombarded by articles in my email, on social media and on my local news broadcast about opportunities for giving in my local area.
It’s so important to give back and support charities and organizations in your local area but why do we need a special day to remind us to give?
There are so many opportunities to give back.  Our children’s schools always need help in the classroom, in the office, through the PTA, music boosters, sports boosters and so on.  I am a member of our … (3 comments)

Share Your Blessings - Opportunities to Help Those Less Fortunate
As we come to the close of another challenging year on the economic front for many, local nonprofit groups throughout the Baltimore area and beyond are struggling to make ends meet and address the growing needs in the community.  This has been a very challenging year for many of us and the need continues.  Consider volunteering to help brighten the day of a senior or a shut in.
These groups and the people they help need our help now more than ever.  Here is a very incomplete list of organizations seeking … (1 comments)
