Defensive Driving Class is Not Just For Drunks - 02/25/11 09:17 AM
Defensive Driving Class is Not Just For Drunks I'm fessing up. Last night I sat through a 3 hour court ordered defensive driving class. My offense? No I was not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I was speeding while distracted. Actually the ticket was for speeding, but the cause of my speeding was because I was distracted by: The fact that I was loss Desparately hoping that I would recognize a familiar street namethat would trigger me to turn Talking with a passenger Here's where I made my mistake. The Big Payback: $7500 Taxpayer Credit....It's Time to Pay Up - 02/24/11 09:06 AM
The Big Payback: $7500 Taxpayer Credit....It's Time to Pay Up Well the time has finally come for the Taypayer credit recipients to payback that $7500 incentive. Not everyone has to pay that money back though. Apparently only those who received the credit during the period of April 1, 2008 through July 1, 2009 will have to pay back the funds used to make their home purchase possible (or at least served as an incentive to buy). Some may say that they didn't know it had to be paid back, while others were fully prepared. Memory often fails us, but unfortunately the (53 comments)

Surviving My Serengeti: I Can't Kill It and It Won't Die. - 02/22/11 03:29 PM
Surviving My Serengeti: I Can't Kill It and It Won't Die. To be honest with you, I didn't want to read the 2 preview chapters of Surviving My Serengeti and when I downloaded it and read a few paragraphs, I was sure that my "lack of" desire was warranted, but I read on. It wasn't until a vivid picture was painted as Ashley, Sean and Raymond watched breathlessly as they witnessed and described the Serengeti. My mind was overtaken by visions of a partially clouded sky with the red, orange and yellow backdrop of the setting sun on a picturesque, yet HOT summer's (20 comments)

Psuedo Reblog: Remembering What's Important at the End of Every Day - 02/17/11 02:26 PM
Psuedo Reblog: Remembering What's Important at the End of Every Day Take a tip from Cherise Selley's Poignant thoughts about Running the Race of Business. The business of real estate can be extremely stressful as is any other business and generally speaking, so is life. At the end of everyday, Cherise reminds us that nothing that happens during the course of our days really matters if we can't be thankful for what we have. She says it so much better than I ever could. See for yourself: Poignant thoughts about Running the Race of Business.
35215 Is Still A Hotbed For Real Estate Investors - 02/17/11 10:01 AM
35215 Is Still A Hotbed For Real Estate Investors 35215 was one of the hardest hit areas with regard to foreclosed properties. For a time, home buyers were avoiding Centerpoint 35215 like the plague and who could blame them for not wanting to buy homes with increasingly decreasing values. There was a stint when even investors had cut back on the purchase of foreclosed homes in Centerpoint 35215, but all of that has changed and investors are buying up properties in droves and renovating them with the utmost care. Currently listed foreclosure homes in Centerpoint 35215 (View 35215 foreclosures)

What's Love Got To Do With Buying & Selling a Home? - 02/14/11 07:14 AM
What's Love Got To Do With Buying & Selling a Home? In a word: EVERYTHING Let's talk about love & buying. When looking for a new home to purchase, love is what makes you all giddy inside with every feature of the home no matter how insignificant it may seem to others what makes you write that offer on the home what makes you have butterflies in your stomach until you've heard the good news: Your offer has been accepted what makes you drive by the house everyday thereafter what makes you drive by the house everyday to show your son (62 comments)
Pseudo Re-Blogs - 02/10/11 01:10 PM
Pseudo Re-Blogs I have attempted to reblog several post this week, but apparently AR has disabled the re-blog feature. Clark Cook had emailed AR about this the other day and in response, AR said that they had enabled re-blogging again. Not so. Well maybe so. Maybe they are still having system problems so I'm Pseudo Re-blogging: In her post titled "Why aren't we looking at that house?" Tish Lloyd reminds buyers that although they may have forgotten what they told us they were looking for......we haven't forgotten. Buyers often get stars in their eyes when they see houses only on the (23 comments)
Who Is Dis? Blackberry SMS Signatures: You Have to Trick Your Phone to Set It Up! - 02/09/11 10:16 PM
Who Is Dis? Blackberry SMS Signatures: You Have to Trick Your Phone to Set It Up! For the life of me, I could not figure out which menu item to choose that would instruct me on how to set up SMS signatures on my Blackberry phone. It's always been pretty simple with other phones. But nooooooo, not with the Blackberry. With the Blackberry, you have to trick your phone by pretending to misspell a word or use a code of some sort, then hit the space bar and your signature will magically appear. I wanted my signature to read: Charita CadenheadBham WIiRE (19 comments)

But You Doesn't Have to Call Me @ill-Twitterliterate - 02/08/11 05:37 AM
But You Doesn't Have to Call Me @ill-Twitterliterate Okay already with the @this and @that. I know that I'm ill-Twitterliterate (new word not yet recognized by the OED and of course your personal favorite Wikipedia, but it's my new word and I'm sticking with it). I understand that @XXXX has some significance when being used on Twitter. What that significance is, I can honestly say that I don't have a clue. What I think I know is that the @ is supposed to precede one's Twitter ID or username. If that is the case, then the use of @ is just (43 comments)
Selling Your Home is NOT a Business Decision. It's Personal. Very Personal. - 02/06/11 08:01 PM
Selling Your Home is NOT a Business Decision. It's Personal. Very Personal. When you purchased your home, you probably heard this: "buying a home is one of the biggest investments you'll ever make" or "the time to think about selling is when you buy, so that when you sell, you'll make money." I believe that when buying, people just want a place to call home. Homebuyers want a place to live, love, learn, share and raise a family in a place that suits their lifestyle. I don't think that turning a profit upon selling a home, is a high priority for most homebuyers (even in (71 comments)
Silly Saturday: Caden Who? - 02/05/11 06:55 AM
Silly Saturday: Caden Who? With a name like Cadenhead, I have come to expect the pronounciation to be butchered (especially if I am on the telephone). I just have to laugh at the way people butcher my name. For the record, it's pronunced K-den-head. That's simple enough right? But even when people look at Cadenhead on paper, I still get called names such as these: Can-den-head K-duh-head (as in Duh?) Cake-head (that's how one of my daughter's childhood friends use to say it. It was too funny. Cad-den-head (think Cadbury candy) Can-den Who? K-den Who? Charita Who? I have to pronounce (41 comments)
The Internet is My Resume - 02/04/11 11:26 AM
The Internet is My Resume Scott Hayes is a top notch ActiveRain blogger and I can name at least a dozen members off the top of my head that consider him an ActiveRain favorite (including me). But I've got to counter Scott's post today and share my feelings about the resume in paper form. Scott really gave me something to think about with his post today titled: Do You Have A Real Estate Resume? "The Internet is my resume." I picked that line up from an email that I gota former AR member who shall remain nameless. I had asked her to send me (101 comments)

I'm very proud to announce that Miles P. Garrison is Bham WIiRE Realty's (BWR) latest recruit. Miles previously worked with the same brokerage as Demetrius Heard (who joined BWR in November). Miles is a humble man and I feel that's his greatest attribute. He's naturally likeable and it's important to him to be well informed. It's also important to him to be able to serve people well and provide them with the ultimate in customer service. Miles and I are currently working together on his first listing with Bham WIiRE Realty. (17 comments)

Active Rain Masterminds - The Short Sale Process - 02/01/11 08:58 AM
A special thanks to our bRain Power team for a wonder job of collaboration. I think we came up with some viable options and it is my hope that someday these suggestions will actually come to past. Thanks bRain Power.
Via Cindy "in Indy" Marchant- Fishers and Carmel Real Estate (Keller Williams Indy NE 317-290-7775 www.marchantteam.com): Given that short sales have been steadily on the rise and are among the most widely discussed transactions in real estate, it's no small wonder that pondering on a solution was the first task for the MMC (MasterMind Challenge).
