sellers: Birthday's - 01/15/08 10:36 PM

Well, it's my birthday. This year, as in year's past, my husband wanted to know what I wanted to do for my big day. I thought about it a lot. 2007 went so quick, it's a blur. So far, 2008 seems to be tha same. So, I opted for quiet day at home. I did what I had to do in Real Estate and then came home, got a good book and finished it tonight. Sometimes, it's nice to just relax and enjoy the comforts of your home.

I have been selling real estate in Salt Lake City since 1990. One thing that I have learned over the years is a good agent will know the seller or buyer's motivation. The way I find that motivation is, I ask questions. There are four valuable questions. Why ..., Where ...., When .... and What if...., these questions will give you the answer to motivation. As a seller you need to be ready to answer those questions. Basically you need to decide what's more important, time or money. The real estate market across the nation has slowed. I recently spent a week in Naples Florida. I teach a class to companies who have purchased ERA franchises. I had a wonderful time and met some really great Realtors. It is so interesting to me to go to the different parts of the country, meet Realtors and see how they run their businesses. As we discussed their market in Florida, I discovered they are having a really slow market. Prices and have fallen and listings are easy to come by. The challenge in their area is getting buyers to buy the houses.
