The Miracles of Life - 09/25/11 02:40 PM
We all know that the Miracle of Life is indeed the biggest miracle of all. In our lives we know that we are given life, we live our lives and then we pass away. I believe it’s what we do in between is what matters the most so therefore, I live my life to the fullest.
Balance is key to success…and behind every successful person is family.
I was blessed with two children, a son (30 yrs old now) and daughter (29 yrs old now) and recently blessed with another miracle.  My daughter, DoriAnne,  gave birth to a healthy boy, Brayden … (22 comments)

Ewa Gentry Hawaii Communities - Affordable Prices in Paradise! - 09/18/11 05:11 PM
The Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii area grew and developers built many new construction homes starting from the early 1990's.  The communities in Ewa bloomed with the housing boom and there were several styles, communities and townhomes to be had during this time.

During the last few years the Ewa Homes and Townhouse/Condo Market Prices went down considerably in this area and sales numbers were still booming to get a piece of that Ewa Beach area pie. Prices are now at an all time low and with interest rates now at an all time low as well it is surely a … (10 comments)

Relationship Building for Better Business Practices - 09/18/11 12:17 AM
We, as business professionals have different opinions, ideas and other creative techniques for targeting specific niche markets.
In my “real estate world” I have the ability to change like a chameleon for each relationship and corner of our real estate industry. Maybe it’s because of my belief that having an open mind that every individual is unique and will have different ideas and opinions as well is what allows me to do so.
Change with an every changing market.
For ever changing times…
For ever changing relationships….
Business relationships can mean one thing to one person and another to the next. … (27 comments)

Kau'i'la, The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle - 09/16/11 10:30 PM
DID YOU KNOW?   The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, The HONU (pronounced ho new) is the "Ancient of the Ocean" and survived even the Ice Age.

Hawaiian legends tell a tale of Kau'i'la (cow ih la) who is a mystical sea turtle and a daughter born to two supernatural sea turtles in Hawaii. Kauila watched over the children playing on Punalu'u Beach (her home) on the Big Island (the island of Hawaii). She would sometimes turn herself into a little girl so she could play with the other children on the Black sandy beach. She would frolick in the fresh water pond and … (21 comments)

Decluttering the ActiveRain Dashboard - 09/12/11 08:45 PM
Mililani, Hawaii -  It's 6pm and I've had dinner and settled down to read some ActiveRain blogs. I am really hoping to read some real estate articles and obtain more information and  insight from our nationwide bloggers. OR, maybe I just want to read some fun entertaining posts, a positive inspirational article or just a few stories about a local area business or perhaps about a fine dining restaurant.I watch the blog dashboard roll down while intently looking for something to catch my eye. I refresh the screen every so often  to see if something else pops up. Lo and behold, … (46 comments)

August 2011
The housing market for Hawaii and it's local areas and neighborhoods are what determines good market statistics.  Each neighborhood will determine the housing market for your local area. For Mililani Real Estate, we can pretty much gather that that the sales prices will vary from other neighborhoods.... and so will the median and average prices and the number of sold properties.

ActiveRain Stewardship and Holding Self to Higher Standard - 09/08/11 06:28 PM
Four and a half years ago, I wrote a post here on ActiveRain titled Stewardship: The Way to a PLEASANT Blogging Experience.   The idea was from a post from a comment thread in which our own Bob Stewart - ActiveRain talked about holding ourselves to a higher standard.
Bob wrote, ""If you have a following on ActiveRain, you need to HOLD YOURSELF TO A HIGHER STANDARD. Having a big following (and there are a ton of you commenting on this that do) means that you take stewardship over the community as a whole. ..........Your actions reflect positively and negatively on ALL … (54 comments)

A Sight for Sore Eyes with a Gift That Will Keep on Giving - 09/07/11 02:22 AM
My mom has a green thumb. She can just put a dying rose plant from my patio ...in a pot...to her sidewalk and it grows like never before. She can trim a branch from a bush and it roots every time.  My mom just has a way with plants.
She says plants don't talk back and they listen.
Two days ago, she gave me a newly potted gardenia from a nice branch she rooted from her 40 year old bush in her yard. It came with a bud that was about to bloom and I couldn't be happier as I remembered every time … (13 comments)

Homes Don’t Always Sell Fast - 09/06/11 01:01 PM
Randy brings up a few points on why homes may not be selling as fast in Hawaii.  There are some that would apply to nationwide home selling but being next to a pig farm (or chicken for that matter) would reduce the chances of selling quickly even more unless you have a client who can't smell.  Which, BTW, I did have a client who did not smell and we made sure he had all kinds of detectors in the home to warn him.
Bad marketing is one of the biggest problems anywhere. We constantly see no MLS pictures or worse yet...pictures … (6 comments)

Positive Business Practices For a Lasting Reputation - 09/04/11 06:26 PM
My reputation is my number one priority of my business model. The first impression of who I am and what I stand for will long be remembered by all I cross paths with. The lasting impression comes from remembering where I came from when working alongside other Real Estate Industry professionals as a team through each and every transaction.
After my phone conversation with another agent last night ended, I was left with such a glow that showed from the inside showing out. My husband asked what that was all about because I was smiling ear to ear. I told him … (55 comments)

A Tragic Start to the Labor Day Weekend on Oahu (Honolulu County) Hawaii | Safety FIRST! - 09/03/11 11:16 PM
Four soldiers stationed at Schofield Barracks in Wahiawa, Oahu (Honolulu County), Hawaii were able to walk out to Mokolii Island, best known as “Chinaman’s Hat”, during low tide yesterday at about 1pm. They decided to head back to Kuoloa Beach Park on the Windward side of Oahu during high tide and ran into trouble.
You can read more about the tragedy here:

A Fishing Expedition at Kaiaka Bay Beach Park | North Shore of Oahu Hawaii - 09/02/11 10:31 PM
We had this bright idea to go fishing a couple of Sundays ago and see if we couldn’t do any better that our ‘great fishing expedition of 2004”.  Nope, back then we did not catch one darn fish and the best thing that came out of that one was we made a friend for those three days.  “Boy” was there at the beach every morning to greet us and laid at my feet after romping around for awhile.
So, on that Sunday we drove through Old Haleiwa town and then over to Waialua and on Fresh Air Camp Road. Now, in … (6 comments)
