aloha spirit: The Wedding Luncheon Video - 04/01/09 12:13 AM
As you all know, Gerardo and Dori (my daughter) were married on Saturday. You can read about it here>>>  A Wonderful Change With A Spring Fresh Future!
Well, we just had a small luncheon afterwards at the Old Spaghetti Factory. (I love their food!)  Anyway, there is nothing more complete than having a video to show everyone's TRUE COLORS.
Listen closely and you'll hear all the remarks going on....like "that's your daugher"....and "why'd you ask how they  FEEL" and stuff like that.....quite hilarious.
BTW....Gary and I don't drink....and you can tell who is....like ...my mom for one lol!  Have fun....and … (21 comments)

aloha spirit: We Won! Hawaii is the Second HAPPIEST State! - 03/13/09 02:19 PM

~~~~~~~~
Have you ever heard of a survey for the happiest state? Hawaii is usually left out of a lot of surveys and somehow gets left out as a state quite often.  We're only across the Pacific Ocean and spread out among islands.  Geez. Well, we were not left out this time.....HAWAII is the SECOND HAPPIEST STATE.  Utah came in First.
Well, after hearing this story on our local news two nights ago.... I was....PROUD.
We are the Aloha State (and now the second happiest lol) and our Aloha Spirit is infectious to say the least. We throw leis … (33 comments)
aloha spirit: PLEASE KOKUA - Everything Has Its Place - 10/20/08 12:01 AM
PLEASE KOKUA!
In Hawaiian "kokua" (Ko Koo Ah) means to help, cooperate, assist, support, care about one another and well....you get the meaning right?  I do believe that courtesy may just be a part of this wonderful word that rolls off the tongue with sincerity and depth.
We had gone to Lowe's Home Improvement Store this morning to get a few needed things for our home. After we shopped we grabbed a Hot Dog from Woody's Hot Dog Stand outside of Lowe's. We took everything to the car and sat inside chowing down on our hot dogs, chips and root … (36 comments)
aloha spirit: Give a Little.....Gain a Lot. - 10/13/08 08:25 PM
There have been many situations during the course of my life where I have had to give a little in order to gain a lot.
In relationships - It's definitely a give and take situation. Though I keep healthy boundaries it's still impertive that I give a little and I don't always have to win. In business - It's also a give and take situation where I have contributed credits, items or repairs so the transaction works....runs smoothly. A few months ago one of our trees by our bedroom was cut down because it was diseased. During high winds there were branches that broke and often … (34 comments)
aloha spirit: State Farm Insurance Company: Mililani Shopping Center (update!!!!) - 07/13/08 12:23 AM
 Our plight with the leak from upstairs ended last week when the kitchen ceiling was replaced this past week. The one thing that I was so upset about was that no one would take responsibility or be accountable for our ceiling caving in .... after two weeks of sitting on their floor (my ceiling) from THEIR FLOOD.
Well, out of all that mess, we stressed out for a month, our insurance company ALLSTATE dropped us and I inquired with a couple of insurance companies to see what we could get in light of this tragedy.
Yeah, it's a tragedy when you are … (33 comments)
aloha spirit: Pick Yourself Up, Dust Yourself Off ..... And Start All Over Again (UPDATE) - 05/25/08 11:01 PM
With sales considerably lower from the start of last year, it was imperative that I regroup and make a new plan for this year. Not only did my business slow but it was also compounded with a few of life's challenges; so restructuring our household, our lives and keeping our sanity was top priority.
Throughout our travels in this game called life we all have challenges thrown across our nicely paved roads, and I am no exception. The trick to succeeding in life is how we all will handle these curve balls that life throws us and continue on our merry … (44 comments)
aloha spirit: Have You Been Lei'd Today? - 05/01/08 11:29 AM
May 1st of each year is "May Day" in Hawaii. The first May day was held on May 01, 1928 to commemorate a celebration of the making and giving of the lei (flower necklace).
A piece of Hawaii Information and Hawaii History: A poet/writer Don Blanding wrote in a local paper of his suggestion to commemorate the celebration of making and giving lei's. He also is credited with throwing the lei overboard the ship....if it returned ...so would you. Fellow Writer Grace Tower Warren came up with the idea of a May first celebration for this very suggestion. She is also … (33 comments)
aloha spirit: "The Road Less Traveled.....The Aloha" - 11/23/07 12:44 PM
The "Spirit of Aloha" means a 'sense of caring and kindness to those around me' and "Malama" means stewardship and when applying both of those in business we take care and give of ourselves with unselfishness in regards to human assets. This I wrote back in August 2007: Conducting Business in Hawaii: The "Spirit of Aloha" and "Malama" and again I am taken aback by the what "Aloha" means to me and what it can mean to you.
On the news last night they did a story on "Where's the Aloha?". It got me to thinking about how life has changed in Hawaii. … (58 comments)
aloha spirit: Labor Day in Hawaii: Ethnicities and Festivities! - 08/29/07 12:52 PM
Labor Day Weekend is one of the biggest holidays of the year to celebrate  our "day off for the working people". Labor Day has been celebrated in the United States since the 1880's and falls on the first Monday of the of September and it is simply known as a "day of rest" and the end of summer.
On our island of Oahu we definitely have a few events scheduled for Labor Day past the annual family BBQ's, camping trips, hiking events, beach events and more. Hawaii is a diverse community with so many ethnicities such as Hawaiian, Pacific Islanders (there are only 80000 Native Hawaiians),  … (33 comments)
