We all believe in all things tangible because we can touch, feel or see them. The ownership of land is the most valuable piece of tangible property there is. If you own a piece of a Hawaii....Land in Paradise with your own home on it then you have the most valuable asset one can have. The American Dream, right?

Well, we could sneak around in the middle of the night and pick the fruit that's hanging over in our yard or throw the branches and leaves back into the owner's yard because they are littering our yards. OR we can just 'bear the fruit of thy neighbor'. There are ‘known' facts that if your lychee tree (or any fruit tree for that matter) with branches that are bearing fruit are overhanging in the neighbor's yard, the fruit belongs to the owner of the tree. Yeah, who wants to talk about the dirt and the scum of the earth? I do! I do! Ah...our beautiful Hawaiian paradise and THE environmentally aware residents who keep it that way. Opala (oh pah la) means garbage in Hawaiian. So, of course we take care of our opala. The City & County of Honolulu's Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Division manages the collection, disposal and recycling operations take care of our 'solid waste' with a waste management system. We may have a great trash man and system but it's up to each individual to KNOW how to dispose or recyle the garbage they create (31 comments)

Our plight with the leak from upstairs ended last week when the kitchen ceiling was replaced this past week. The one thing that I was so upset about was that no one would take responsibility or be accountable for our ceiling caving in .... after two weeks of sitting on their floor (my ceiling) from THEIR FLOOD. Well, out of all that mess, we stressed out for a month, our insurance company ALLSTATE dropped us and I inquired with a couple of insurance companies to see what we could get in light of this tragedy.
