When I was 11 years old I flew on a prop airplane to Kauai with my cousin to visit with my favorite Aunt Sally. She taught me how to crochet, sew, play the ukulele and clean house. On this first trip over there my cousin and I vowed we would find all sorts of mischief to get into. We went crabbing with my Uncle Doug and we found a stray cat. We 'snuck' him in the back of the car and managed to muffle the cat's cries....for help wondering where we were taking her. We hid the cat under a wash (17 comments)

On our trip to Kauai May 10, 2008 we took so many pictures and videos of different natural scenic wonders. One of them was Waimea Canyon on Kauai - It Took My Breath Away....Literally and now I am bringing another wonderful awesome site. The Spouting Horn is located on Lawa'i (La Va ee) Road near Poipu (Poeepoo) Beach on the island of Kauai. What is a Spouting Horn? It is the name of this 'blowhole'. The cool air stung our faces with gusts of wind coming up from the valleys, caverns and up and over the ridges throughout this wonderful historic site called the Waimea (pronounced why may ah) Canyon on the west side of the island of Kauai (pronounced cow ah ee). In the late 1960's and early 1970's I would go to my Aunt Sally's home during spring and summer vacations and only once did I experience the beauty and awesome colors reflected from the sun and passing cloud formations over this (31 comments)

While touring the island of Kauai on our one day trip this past Saturday we were astounded at how many chickens and roosters were on this island. Everywhere!
This little chick walked right up to me and waited for me to stoop down and take a picture. Hey little chicky! Why are you staring at me? Posing and posturing and then walking off. What a cutie.
And this one wanted to dance....to do the dance 'the chicken'. LOL!
Majestic, don't ya think?
