I walked through the door of a townhouse and what lay behind that door did not surprise me one bit. I walked through the door of a condo and what lay behind that door did not surprise me a bit. One condo and one townhouse that were both rentals for years and both sellers want to put it on the market asap and get it sold. There are tenants ... few and far between....that will treat a rental like their own. VERY FEW. And these two units were no exception to this rule. In 1971 my family moved to Mililani and it was in the beginning stages of a 40 year Master Planned Community development of single family homes, condos and townhouses with the first homes built in 1968. My children went through their school years in Mililani (they're adults now) and my mom still lives in the same house bought in 1971. I remember when.... Miililani is centrally located to all military bases on the island and 5-10 minutes from Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield, 20-25 minutes to Hickam AFB, Pearl Harbor Navy Base and over the H-3 to Kaneohe Marine Corp Air (9 comments)

Countless times I have wondered, pondered, assumed and presumed. The THINKING can drive us nuts if we allow our own thinking to interfere with good, sound advice. I've watched the changes and the upgrades to ActiveRain and the red flag whatsamajigger doodad (ugly in my opinion) next to my points go up, go down and all around. I speak my mind I email my thoughts to ActiveRain and most of the time get a quick response. Centrally located to all military bases on the island of Oahu (Honolulu County) Mililani is the home for many Active Duty Military as it is 5-10 minutes from Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Air Field, 20-25 minutes from Hickam AFB, Pearl Harbor Navy Base and Ft. Shafter Army Base and about 30-35 minutes from Kaneohe Marine Corp Air Base. Mililani is a Master Planned Community and has a population of approximately 30,000 people. There is no doubt that Military Relocating to Hawaii need housing and most active duty and vets are still taking advantage of their VA Guaranteed Loan. VA Guarantees a percentage of the loan and you still have to go through a Lender that actually does do VA Loans and it is for your OWN PERSONAL USE. (not all banks, credit unions and loan companies do VA Loans). The Veterans Administration Guaranteed Loan is most likely the best choice for most miiltary because they can do 100% financing and roll the funding fee into the loan.
