real esate professional: Relationship Building for Better Business Practices - 09/17/11 05:17 PM
We, as business professionals have different opinions, ideas and other creative techniques for targeting specific niche markets.
In my “real estate world” I have the ability to change like a chameleon for each relationship and corner of our real estate industry. Maybe it’s because of my belief that having an open mind that every individual is unique and will have different ideas and opinions as well is what allows me to do so.
Change with an every changing market.
For ever changing times…
For ever changing relationships….
Business relationships can mean one thing to one person and another to the next. … (27 comments)

real esate professional: Positive Business Practices For a Lasting Reputation - 09/04/11 11:26 AM
My reputation is my number one priority of my business model. The first impression of who I am and what I stand for will long be remembered by all I cross paths with. The lasting impression comes from remembering where I came from when working alongside other Real Estate Industry professionals as a team through each and every transaction.
After my phone conversation with another agent last night ended, I was left with such a glow that showed from the inside showing out. My husband asked what that was all about because I was smiling ear to ear. I told him … (55 comments)

real esate professional: Quit Talking SPECIFIC Commission Splits on MY Blog! - 04/06/11 02:54 PM
You've heard the expression ‘Our reputation is all we have', right?  I do not take that lightly. Regardless in everyday living or in business my reputation dictates the person I am; in real life or the written word. I do not take lightly to those that choose an alternate to living right.
After emailing another agent about discussing specific commission splits on my blog this agent turns around and ‘threatens' that there will be no commenting on my blog again. I really could give a hoot. I'd rather keep the discussion from going further and let the agent know that I … (83 comments)

real esate professional: Should Buyer and Seller Agents BOTH Present an Offer to the Seller? - 01/21/11 04:03 AM
Some buyer's agents request that the seller's agent ask the seller if they can be physically there to meet with the seller when presenting their buyer's offer.  We think in the best interests of our clients and want to do everything for them in the negotiating process, right?  There are two sides to everything and I've been contemplating both those sides.
Pro's of the Buyer's Agent presenting their buyer's offer to the seller with the seller's agent:
Negotiate for the buyer in price (meet halfway?) Negotiate for the buyer for closing costs (VA loan and no money down) Negotiate for the buyer in terms (i.e. contingent on home for sale) … (56 comments)

real esate professional: Sound Advice or Shall They Shoot the Messenger? - 11/15/10 01:21 PM
We all would like to be in control of our clients, right?  Wrong. Over the course of my online musings I've seen many a time where the agent is saying they "tell" the other agent what they would do in a situation such as putting in an offer, accepting an offer and so forth.  They blatantly say they tell the other agent this, that and the other.
What happened to the seller or buyer and their option to make the decision?
We ‘guide' and ‘advise' our clients while negotiating a contract. The seller's agent lets the seller know what they are … (36 comments)

real esate professional: Do You Remember Where You Came From? - 08/04/10 01:41 PM
A while back I wrote a post  Remember That We ALL Started Somewhere in Real Estate because real estate is a continuous learning process. We all start from the bottom and work our way up to be who we are today.
No matter what part of the real estate industry we are in, we ALL have started from the bottom.
Remembering where we come from allows us to have compassion, patience and understanding with those that we work with in our industry. It allows us to continue to help others who are starting from the bottom and we allow for the … (75 comments)
