waipio gentry: Hawaiian Sunset on a Friday Evening - 11/19/11 01:16 AM
I was in awe! I ran to grab my camera!  I could not ask for a better way to end my day.. than with a spectacular sun setting in the distance….and capturing this moment to share with all of you.
These are the moments when I stop…take a breath …and realize that I just took a moment to be grateful for the little things.
Have a wonderful weekend ActiveRainers!

waipio gentry: Sentimental Thoughts on a Fig Tree - 10/30/11 12:54 AM
I’m one of those people that gets a little…just a little… attached to most living things. It may sound silly although when I put my heart and soul into nurturing a living thing it becomes a part of me. It’s who  I am and definitely stands for the kind of person I am.
I nurture all my plants in my little fenced yard. About 3 years ago I nurtured a palm and then donated it to our community to take the place of a diseased tree they had to get rid of.  They exchanged the bare spot with my palm and … (32 comments)

waipio gentry: The Downpour was Scary...Yet Calming - 12/04/09 02:23 PM
Last night it was a cool and brisk with a little wind blowing the trees to and fro. All of a sudden the wind started blowing my plants and all of a sudden a downpour occured out of nowhere. The  pounding of the rain was so loud and LARGE Raindrops could be heard all around us.
With the loud noise it can be quite deafening.... but after watching the rain for a few minutes and listening closer I started to hear something else.
The plants were getting nourished
And the rain seemed to be cleansing
And the sound became soothing
After all.

waipio gentry: Brush Fires, Helicopters and More - 07/15/09 12:18 AM
I heard loud helicoptors right above my house and ran out to my patio and ....there it is right above me! I locked up my house and ran to the back park and watched the two helicopters get low enough to scoop water into their hanging buckets.

The fire department is there, the police are everywhere... and the big 'pool' of water kept filling up through the large hoses. Neighbors started gathering around and we all were taking pictures of this site.

Yellow one, blue one gathering buckets of water; flying a few blocks away to dump the water on three brush … (20 comments)

waipio gentry: A Moments Notice - 09/16/08 02:26 PM

The cutting edge of the sun that sets
Across the field to mountain top
A lone tree standing against utilty poles
To show the depth of ones soul.
How deep can you go
In creating a scene of memory
And snapped on a moments notice.

waipio gentry: What You Didn't Know about the HAWAIIAN ISLANDS - 07/13/08 11:12 PM
Dedicated to Bob Stewart
(who is attending the Hawaii Association of Realtors®  2008 Pacific Rim Conference & Expo on the Island of Hawaii on September 18 & 19th, 2008 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village )

Yes, Hawaii is a State that was admitted into the Union on August 21, 1959 and making it the 50th State. Now, for those that have never even stepped foot in Hawaii.... let's clear up a few things.
First of all, it's widespread near and far that Hawaii is an island paradise. Right? Full of trade winds blowing through your hair and beautiful balmy sunny skies above. We have beautiful beaches and lush green valleys and wonderful hiking … (26 comments)

waipio gentry: Kaiser Permanente Clinics.....and Farmer's Markets??? - 06/15/08 05:32 PM

Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers and Clinics are located in Honolulu, Moanalua and most recently in Waipio Gentry.
About a month ago our family transferred over to the Kaiser Plan and we picked the Waipio Clinic to be our home of record as it is just blocks from home.
I wanted to just let you all know that during my first visit with my doctor I was pleased with the technology they have upgraded to since I was last with them in 2003.
The doctor went through all my history within the first hour of that first meeting.  All tests, referrals and specialist appointments … (10 comments)

What's happening in Waipio Gentry for the Christmas Holidays?   An event and a message. Well, for one thing, with the Christmas Holidays approaching there is the Annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Waipio Gentry Community Association and the Lion's Club. Starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 8, 2007 so plan on being there! The Parade includes young people, businesses and our Waipio Gentry residents that are representing the core of our Community.
The Aloha. The Spirit. The Heart.
Our children are surely oblivious with their innocence and for them the Holiday's are filled with toys, games and their school breaks. … (10 comments)
