      <title>Fellow Realtor POISONED | Slipped Potent Pot-Laced Dessert | West Hartford CT </title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;I'll make this one short ...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A fellow Realtor from my office went to one of his listings today to speak with the seller about the state of the market. His client offered him a piece of ginger cake and milk.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1 hour later, he came back to the office and slowly became numb, blood pressure up, and began having tremors.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After calling 911, the EMTs and police were able to figure out that his client had laced the cake with a marijuana concoction that sent his body into shock.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sick joke by a sick individual that could have turned fatal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Thank goodness he is ok now. I guess it's a lesson for all of us... watch who we trust!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;McLean, VA - Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE) today released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey&amp;reg; (PMMS&amp;reg;) in which the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 5.93 percent with an average 0.7 point for the week ending September 11, 2008, down from last week when it averaged 6.35 percent. Last year at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.31 percent.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 15-year FRM this week averaged 5.54 percent with an average 0.7 point, down from last week when it averaged 5.90 percent. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 5.97 percent.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) averaged 5.87 percent this week, with an average 0.7 point, down from last week when it averaged 5.97 percent. A year ago, the 5-year ARM averaged 6.17 percent.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One-year Treasury-indexed ARMs averaged 5.21 percent this week with an average 0.6 point, up from last week when it averaged 5.15 percent. At this time last year, the 1-year ARM averaged 5.66 percent.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;(Average commitment rates should be reported along with average fees and points to reflect the total cost of obtaining the mortgage.)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There are only 6 screens at the theater, adding to it's charm. You don't feel overwhelmed by choices or screaming children with nothing to do on a Friday night... this is a place to simply take in a good film. First run films are the norm, with some indie flicks thrown in there from time to time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I was suckered into a 'chic flick' so to speak -Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2- and had to endure for the sake of love. The Mrs enjoyed it thoroughly and even shed a few tears... and I actually enjoyed the film too! Here is info regarding the cinema. My suggestion is to park in/around the center rather than the Blue Back parking garages. Just remember to bring your quarters for the meter.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;For those of you unfamiliar, the &lt;strong&gt;Pond House&lt;/strong&gt; is a cozy restaurant nestled in &lt;strong&gt;Elizabeth Park&lt;/strong&gt; and yes, overlooking the pond. Next time, I will do my homework a little better, as this establishment is a BYOBottle of Wine house. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic and the outdoor atmosphere was equally ideal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We started the night out with a fresh tomato and mozzarella salad made from the &lt;strong&gt;Pond House&lt;/strong&gt;'s very own garden fresh vegetables. There was a rather interesting looking &quot;vegetable&quot; that I couldn't figure out what it was. I bit in with adventure and curiosity, yet still didn't realize what I had eaten. GARLIC! Yes, I ate an entire clove of raw garlic as if it were a potato. Anyone who knows me well knows that garlic and I are NOT friends. Let's just say that a few hours later, I was feeling the effects of that yummy morsel.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;HOWEVER, I knew I still had a good two hours to enjoy every bite I took before Mr. Garlic revisited me... and enjoy I did. I ordered the homemade Gnocchi with a pesto tomato sauce and grilled shrimp- Fantastic.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;The Mrs. ordered the Summer Pasta, a mix of fresh mozz, tomato, grilled chicken, and pine nuts tossed into a penne pasta with balsamic reduction and oil. I have to say, I did reach my fork across the table several times.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For dessert, we split vanilla gellato and an iced Mocha coffee complete with chocolate gelato, chocolate chips, and whipped cream.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The evening couldn't have been better. Top it off with the summer event series at &lt;strong&gt;Elizabeth Park&lt;/strong&gt; (we listened to the distant sounds of the band Pandemonium all night long), and this was an evening well worth repeating.&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;This photo below is a summation of my day&lt;/strong&gt;... This is NUTZ! Yes.. we hear how other countries have been paying much more for years.. but they also don't have the landscape or territorial layout that the US has! If I drove a Yugo around town to work, or a moto-scooter all day, I wouldn't be too worried about $7 gas nevermind $4.29!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Our government needs to realize that our economy and way of life is structured around our highway systems and automobiles.. thus GAS!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I am inspired yet again... Read this, make sense of it, and you&amp;#39;ll see that we have a completely NORMAL housing market.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I often times explain to my clients&amp;nbsp;roundabout figures for the &lt;strong&gt;Appreciation of Housing&lt;/strong&gt;, one of the nation&amp;#39;s biggest assets and prime methods for earning long term wealth.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Between 2001 and 2005, we were seeing record breaking appreciation in almost all markets. Homes were going up 10% a yr, sometimes more. &lt;strong&gt;Traditionally, you can count on an average of 3% appreciation a yr.&lt;/strong&gt; (This is my analysis looking over data and seeing trends from the last 30-40 yrs)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align=&quot;center&quot;&gt;&lt;u&gt;Follow this math with me...&lt;/u&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A home in &lt;strong&gt;2001 sells for $100,000&lt;/strong&gt;. Appreciates &lt;strong&gt;8%&lt;/strong&gt; per yr through &lt;strong&gt;2005&lt;/strong&gt;... market value of that same home at the&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;end of 2005&amp;nbsp;was $136,048.&lt;/strong&gt; (Using 8%, we have a modest appreciation percentage to represent what happened nationwide to home values)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;OK! Now... if the same house had appreciated at only &lt;strong&gt;3%&lt;/strong&gt;, which is the approximate average of appreciation per yr of housing, that $100,000 would have been worth &lt;strong&gt;$112,550&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;u&gt;BIG DIFFERENCE HUH&lt;/u&gt;?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, here we are in 2008.&amp;nbsp;Everyone is complaining about prices. Sellers complain they&amp;#39;re &amp;quot;losing&amp;quot; money. Buyers complain that homes are overpriced. &lt;strong&gt;But really, what we&amp;#39;re seeing, is the compression of the ball going from inflated to NORMAL. &lt;img src=&quot;http://www.kentunion.co.uk/export/sites/Kent/image_gallery/storage/slow_and_steady.jpg&quot; height=&quot;202&quot; align=&quot;right&quot; alt=&quot; &quot; width=&quot;268&quot; /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;At &lt;strong&gt;3% per yr, projecting to 2009&lt;/strong&gt;, that same &lt;strong&gt;$100,000&lt;/strong&gt; would be worth&amp;nbsp;about &lt;strong&gt;$127,000&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;at the end of the year! &lt;strong&gt;Make sense? If not, read it all again.&lt;/strong&gt; It really brings some reality back&amp;nbsp;and counteracts all the negative Debbie Downers of the press. We&amp;#39;re coming in for a soft landing right on track with the norm of Housing Appreciation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This does stink for folks who bought at the top of the market... and Yes, I do feel for you if your mortgage amount is now higher than your value... but hold fast. &lt;strong&gt;You&amp;#39;ll all be ok&lt;/strong&gt;. Housing is still the #1 asset for the American dream. &lt;strong&gt;Think long term&lt;/strong&gt;, which is primarly what Real Estate is. &lt;/p&gt;</description>

You&amp;#39;d be surprised what some windex and a sponge can do to get dirt, smudges and grime off of a for sale sign. Straighten out your posts, trim the grass, shovel the snow... sell the house!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;A young woman working at a RE/MAX in Canada was &lt;strong&gt;recently found murdered in a vacant home&lt;/strong&gt; that was selling for $964,000. The details of the investigation are yet to be released, but it is known that she was showing the home to someone who called in previously, wanting to see 1 million dollar homes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This post is meant simply to highlight that we as Realtors &lt;strong&gt;MUST&lt;/strong&gt; be careful. Ladies, PLEASE &lt;strong&gt;trust your gut&lt;/strong&gt;. If you don&amp;#39;t know the client, don&amp;#39;t show the house! It&amp;#39;s that simple.
