Sellers Don't Give Up! - 04/29/08 11:26 AM
I am happy. My seller is happy. The buyer is thrilled.
It still happens, even in a difficult market.
My seller worked so hard. She was a real trooper, always making sure the home was in showing condition, no easy feat with a newborn AND a toddler.
This past weekend we got TWO offers on the same day. Yep...multiple offers. WOW.
I am proud of myself. That is ok to say right? I worked really hard to make sure this home got premium exposure.
I told every agent that I spoke to what a great property it was!
It paid off. The home was on the market … (6 comments)

How Important Is Your Office Mate?? - 04/28/08 07:10 PM
Our office is growing...that's a good thing..Right??
Prior to our additional agents I had my own office with lots of space and plenty of leg room.
BAM!!!!!!! New agents mean, new roomie...
So I move my spread  from 3 desks..to one as I move in with a fellow agent.
First, I am not known to be the most organized person when it comes to desk space..I consider myself somewhat of a visual person. If I don't see it....it doesn't exist. Therefore...my stuff is EVERYWHERE.
My new roomie, thank goodness, is also a close friend, extremely patient fellow with a great sense of humor.
He … (4 comments)

Thank you so much to all of you who sent well wishes and sincere prayers. We are still waiting...There have been some slight improvements and it gives us all hope. She is very strong.
My sincerest gratitude to all of you who have prayed for her. Thank you for thinking of her during this time.

Whatever Your Religion, Whomever Your God, Please Pray For Her - 04/23/08 09:36 AM
I understand this forum is geared towards education, networking, and advancement of the real estate profession, however, I have come to know many amazing people through their words. I am asking, pleading those amazing people to stop and take a few minutes to pray for my friend, Denise.
She is a beautiful, radiant, lively, generous, and loving friend. She just recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
Last weekend she was involved in an accident and is now fighting for her life. I am completely at a loss for words. Please, my request is simple, sincere, and very much needed. … (25 comments)

Fried Chicken, Boiled Peanuts, and Life Jackets! - 04/21/08 04:21 PM
So here we are late in April and already my sea legs are shaking. I can almost smell the diesel, the saltwater, and suntan oil....what a glorious recipe for summer!
Here in Beaufort there is a phenomenon known as the sandbar. We are fortunate to be surrounded by water, we can even go to the beach without leaving town...but there isn't anything quite as locally renowned as the sandbar!
Even though our water is still a bit cold (cold for us means below 70 degrees) the die hards are already anchoring up.
So what is the Sand Bar?? Well some may argue that … (4 comments)

It Would Have Been A Nice Commission....I Suppose..... - 04/18/08 12:01 PM
If the walls of our cars could talk....
I guess by now it is pretty obvious to most that I am a wee bit protective and maybe even slightly neurotic of my precious (yep I said "my" so maybe even a little egocentristic) little town by the sea.
Beaufort has meant so much to me in so many ways.  I first came to Beaufort solely based on a conversation I overheard in an emergency room.  I vaguely recall the injury most likely one of my slip, trip, bump-n bruise days no doubt.
Emergency rooms are not the best places for … (61 comments)

What is on Your Wish List? - 04/16/08 11:06 AM
Have you decided that you're ready to buy a home?
Are you ready to look at homes? You might want to have your wish list handy and take notes as you look at different homes.
If you haven't yet made a list, here's an idea of some of the things to look for.Do you want a single-family home or a condominium or a townhouse?
A single-family home gives you more privacy, but more responsibility too. A condominium may be more affordable and include amenities, such as a community workout center or swimming pool, but requires you to help pay community costs … (1 comments)

Spring Time is Just Around The Corner~~~ - 04/16/08 10:55 AM
Native plants are plants that have adapted to the geography, rainfall levels, and climate of a particular region.
Native plants occur in communities, that is, they have evolved together with other plants.
As a result, a community of native plants provides habitat for a variety of native wildlife species such as songbirds and butterflies.
Who doesn't like those? The reason you might want to consider incorporating native plants into your landscape is that they provide a beautiful, hardy, drought resistant, low maintenance area to your landscape, while benefiting the environment.
And the environment needs all the help we can give it:)

Bank Advising Seller to Be Late on Mortgate Payment!?!?!? - 04/15/08 05:10 PM
It would be much appreciated if any of you could throw me a small bone of wisdom in regards to Short Sales.
I took an online course but still feel as if I am missing something.
Is it true that a Short Sale is just a small notch above a foreclosure when it comes to the effect it has on the sellers credit?
And do the lenders have the exclusive power to decide whether or not a seller is allowed to do a Short Sale?
I have spoken to two different banks today regarding a short sell and received to VERY different answers. … (4 comments)

My Face is Peeling Off - 04/15/08 03:01 PM
Greetings Fellow Rainers.....
Sorry, I have been a bit dry lately. No dancing, singing, or blogging in the rain. Why? Well....I have several excuses:
 1. I have been busy (is that really an excuse?)
 2. I actually took a vacation (a real bona-fide vacation)
 3. I ripped out my bathroom and forgot how to put it back together.
I have to admit, there is certain validity to being a disciplined blogger as it relates to productivity. I found that on the days I give the rain it's well deserved attention, I am more focused, better aware of the current events that effect our market, and … (2 comments)

Extraordinary Opportunity Through Ordinary Tasks - 04/01/08 04:19 PM
I hope you are enjoying this gentle beginning to Spring. The showers are prepping our Azaleas for a wonderful season! I would like to inform you of a new venture. After many conversations with clients, friends, and family regarding how difficult it can be for single moms to make ends meet much less put money aside for the future of their children, I have decided to open a new business.
As a Realtor, I have been asked countless times for a referral for an honest, dependable, economical cleaning service. I have had the pleasure of hiring a few in the past … (6 comments)
