We Aren't In Preschool Anymore Toto! - 02/27/12 07:25 AM
In preschool it was accepted to question the world's, the class, even the teacher's purpose as it related to the simple task of meeting our specific needs. The mats would magically appear when slumber loomed, the Kool-Aid and cookies were kept in eternal snack supply, and in the unlucky event that a knee, elbow, or a shin met an untimely introduction to our personally designed sidewalk, each and every individual within a mile radius rushed to our assistance with a safety kit created for our exclusive use.

It was a time when the world literally revolved around our needs, our … (12 comments)

A "Thank You", Can Change A Day, A Week, Even an Outcome - 02/21/12 08:44 AM
I can’t pay for advertising with a “Thank you”. I can’t cover the expenses of lock boxes, signs, catered events or endless website marketing with an appreciative note; however, there is very little my team wouldn’t do for clients who offer gratitude for the countless hours we devote to making things happen.
Each one of our clients receives the same level of service no matter if it is appreciated or not; it is our job. In real estate we do have a luxury of choosing the clients we serve. Sometimes the choice is easy; sometimes it is more complex. It … (1 comments)

How To Make Foes and Insult People - 02/16/12 01:47 PM
Networking is the name of the game, right? The more people that see your face, your listings, your philosophy of all things real estate, the more successful you will be or at the very least, the more successful you appear. Facebook is the fastest growing medium for reaching prospects, clients, and colleagues. It is a simple format to gain exposure for your listings, your projects, and most definitely a platform to announce your objectives to the world.
It is powerful. It can be painfully powerful when approached with little to know regard for fact, professionalism, and at times, common sense. There … (3 comments)

Beaufort SC Has A Whole Lot Of Loving - 02/14/12 11:21 AM
I just love a small town. I love a small town that oozes charm even more. This morning as I was making Valentine deliveries to some of my favorite people, I couldn't help but beam with joy and shine with pride at the love that abounds in my little town.

The coffee shops are all a buzz. Flower shops are over flowing with beauty as people find ways to show how much they care. We have markets full of sweet treets, we have wine shops for even the most discerning palate. We have eclectic art galleries and boutiques glowing with … (7 comments)

I Didn't Know The Woman Behind The Voice; I Knew The Voice Behind My Childhood - 02/12/12 11:26 AM
Like a kid tippy-toeing through a sticker patch, a winter skip across mother nature's frosted floors, or a cautionary prance after the shards of broken glass are swept away; I write about the loss my generation feels. Death is an unwanted visitor that discriminates not against class, station, ethnicity, or convenience. Few have welcomed its arrival or celebrated its presence. As common as the air we breathe, death is a certain absolute.
I did not know Whitney Houston, not in the way a neighbor knows a neighbor or a friend knows a friend; however, I knew her impact, her grace, … (11 comments)

Is Every Single Realtor Really The Best? Weeding Through The Ridiculous~ - 02/09/12 08:49 AM
Hold on to your lock boxes, this is one for the strong at heart! It was taught to me quite early on, that the best rarely have to announce that they are, in fact, the best. Their work usually speaks for itself without any need for back up. Possibly it is just me, more likely it is just me on an entire pot of coffee; but what on earth is going on in the real estate marketing realm? Is every single agent really THE absolute best?
I ran track in high school, not many cheerleaders do. There is a reason not many cheerleaders … (86 comments)

It Would Have Been a Nice Commission, I Suppose.. - 02/04/12 11:50 AM
I guess by now it is pretty obvious to most that I am a wee bit protective and maybe even slightly neurotic of my precious (yep I said "my" so maybe even a little egocentristic) little town by the sea.
Beaufort has meant so much to me in so many ways. I first came to Beaufort solely based on a conversation I overheard in an emergency room. I vaguely recall the injury most likely one of my slip, trip, bump-n bruise days no doubt.
Emergency rooms are not the best places for private conversations or maybe I was just blatantly … (10 comments)

Somerset Point in Beaufort South Carolina - 02/03/12 08:11 AM
Just over a year ago we opened our doors at Somerset Point in Beaufort South Carolina. Months and months of preparation, long hours, long debates, and long lists preceded opening day. Building a community is challenging; building a community in the current economic atmosphere is just plain crazy, right? Wrong.

When most of the industry was hibernating, we were innovating. When everyone was saying "It can't be done."; we were finding a way. As a Realtor, I knew buyers wanted something more. My builder new buyers demanded quality; our owner knew it would take all of us to make it … (1 comments)

Channel Your Inner Martha Stewart, Play the Theme From Rocky and Move On - 02/03/12 07:43 AM
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Seller,
I am sorry life has thrown you a curve. It isn't the absolute best time to sell your home. The next few months will likely be extremely stressful for everyone in your family. You will get advice from everyone from your mail person to the dry cleaner.
Watching the evening news will not only make you want to scream, but may cause nightmares. Turn it off. The reporter from Whatever City, Whatever State, isn't likely a local expert.
It is time to channel your inner Martha Stewart. Your home is now a product you MUST sell. … (2 comments)

No, Beaufort SC Doesn't Have a Shopping Mall - 02/03/12 07:39 AM
Coach Bags, Manolo Blahnik shoes, Chanel Fragrance, the latest boots and the coolest jeans will NOT be found on every corner in Beaufort, SC. I know, I know, don't cry. I was once that girl.

Before living in Beaufort, I lived in downtown Atlanta.
Atlanta...ahhh, the nightlife, the endless shopping extravaganza, the latest gadgets and gifts, the aroma of Starbucks at every turn and did I mention the shopping???

Those were the days...
I thought
Now instead of Coach Bags, Ihave Seagrass Baskets.
Instead of Manolo Blahnik strappy heels, I have Palmetto Flip Flops.
Chanel Fragrance … (1 comments)
