beaufort sc: All Facebook Needs Now is A Kitchen Sink~! - 01/03/12 04:15 PM
More and more time is spent communicating, socializng, shopping, and researching on social media sites. It is only logical that real estate be included in the vast world of Facebook fun. I am able to keep up with friends, clients, colleagues, and news reports just by logging in a taking a quick glance at the day's updates.
It is my intention to keep my personal Facebook page, well as personal as Facebook can be while maintaining a public profile for my business on my business page. I doubt that my clients care to see photos of me fishing, kayaking or those … (2 comments)

beaufort sc: Home From War - 11/10/10 07:24 AM
There are some photos that require no caption, no description, no editing. This is a young couple that I had the honor of helping buy their very first home. He was coming home from his first deployment in Iraq. This is one aspect of war, that FOX nor CNN can capture even on their very best of days.
Don't forget the sacrifice these men and women make each and everyday. Take a moment to thank them.

beaufort sc: It is One Town, One Team, One Night That Nothing Else Matters. - 10/30/10 11:05 AM
Coming from a small town in rural Mississippi, there is one thing I understand completely. The importance of small town football can never be underestimated. The great equalizer, the great healer, the great debate, the great end to a long week; small town football.
Anyone who has ever forgotten what it was like to work so hard, to want something so badly, and to give everything you can for that one moment; attend your local high school football game. These young men aren't getting a paycheck. There is no promise of endorsements, worldwide fame, and/or and instant get out of jail … (1 comments)

beaufort sc: We Most Certainly Do Have Seasons! - 10/23/10 09:33 AM
Of course we have our problems, we even sometimes experience the sting of small town growing pains, and we do have bugs; however, there is not one single negative that compares or in anyway discounts the charm, the grace, or the endearing low country atmosphere that surrounds Beautiful, Beaufort By The Sea.
Some argue that we don't have true seasons. They obviously have never experienced our fall festivals, barefooted through one of our pumpkin patches, enjoyed "Pickin By The River", or simply took five minutes to notice the subtle changes in our sea grass.
We most certainly do have seasons.

beaufort sc: On Any Given Monday - 09/26/10 10:35 AM
Tuesday goes mostly unnoticed, Wednesday has it's own nickname, Thursday gets thirsty, Friday is basically worshiped, even cartoons love Saturday and Sunday is synonymous with peace. Then, there is Monday. Even uttering it's two syllables I hear the theme to "Jaws" playing in the distance. It is almost always spoken with a deep sigh, a growl, or an occasional eye roll.
Mondays can't be avoided. You can't go around them. It is impossible to ignore them, the only option is to go right through them.

beaufort sc: In 4 Inch Heels, I Plopped Down Beside Her and Proceeded to Pull Weeds - 09/24/10 09:24 AM
The pride and joy of my previous year was no doubt, Carolina Village. A residential lot turned adorable, award winning community, made me smile most everyday. As we are putting the finishing touches on the last two homes, my trips through the neighborhood aren't quite as frequent as required last year. Instead of once every hour, it is now about twice a week.
Yesterday I was driving through checking on construction progress, chatting with happy neighbors, and planning on taking photographs to update our buyer.
Funny thing about plans, they usually don't quite go as I intend. As I am driving … (9 comments)

beaufort sc: 5 Lessons I Learned Teaching High School That Apply in My Real Estate Career! - 09/19/10 04:40 PM
It is said that variety is the spice of life, if that is true I am one spicy individual. After graduating college I experimented with a plethora of careers. My degree was in education, where I was certain my heart belonged as well. Somehow my pocket book wasn't as inclined to the pay scale of my proposed calling.
My ability to chat with a tree stump proved to be profitable in my bartending days. Insatiable curiosity flew me straight to Japan. An affinity for shoes sent me rolling through retail and poor eye sight landed me a job with Armani's Optical … (6 comments)

beaufort sc: Goodnight Summer - 09/17/10 09:11 AM
As September moves towards an end Beaufort, SC says farewell to another gorgeous summer season.
We won't be crowding into the Ladys Island Publix to grab our to-go fried chicken, our tans will slowly fade, MOST of us will go ahead and store away our abundant array of flip-flops, our boats won't be nearly as crowded, and we may actually spend a bit more time inside.

The morning air is crisp and cooler than normal. Our air conditioners are getting a little lonesome. We are already deciding which farm we will visit for our festive pumpkins, and few conversations are without … (8 comments)

beaufort sc: Facebook for Beginners!~ - 08/17/10 07:21 PM
For those of you that are lost in the abyss that is social media, don't panic. There is help. The following cheat sheet will serve as a life raft should you find yourself drowning in the tsunami known as Facebook. It is highly recommended you memorize or keep the following in a safe, easily accessible location.
Friend- someone you have met, never met, will never meet, wouldn't know you if you did meet, yet an individual that you obsessively read about, browse photos, and follow updates as if were the recipe for a cure for the common cold. Can also be … (10 comments)

beaufort sc: Beaufort High School Athletics! - 08/17/10 12:50 PM
As Realtors, we are constantly being approached to advertise whether it is Google, Yahoo, Trulia, Zillow, or our local print media. Each year we spend thousands on ads, sponsorships, banners etc. How much of your advertising dollars go towards the local youth?

One of my clients asked me to sponsor Beaufort High athletics this year. Before I even knew the cost, I said, of course.
As a former school teacher, and more importantly a former high school athlete, I understand how vital sports programs can be to enriching the lives of students. Just as I expect a return on my … (5 comments)

beaufort sc: The Sky Is Not Falling, Not Today Anyway - 08/12/10 08:34 AM
Come on outside Beaufort. I am fairly certain the sky is NOT falling, not today anyway. Although our heads have been less than delicately plucked from the clouds, the ground is willing to support the return of our feet.
It was fun while it lasted, a time in recent history where a pulse guaranteed riches in real estate. The local restaurants were a buzz with Realtors, builders, and appraisers. We all had a friend, cousin, or not too distant relative whose middle name was Developer.

It was an unsustainable snowball rolling through the warm streets of our little coastal town. It … (4 comments)

beaufort sc: 22 Millers Pond Beaufort SC~ Coosaw Point - 07/20/10 10:28 PM
Immaculate detail, southern elegance, warm-welcoming ambiance and that is just the front porch. This home represents why so many come to the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
Nestled on an Oak draped lot on one of Ladys Island's most desirable waterfront communities. Coosaw Pointis tucked peacefully where the Coosaw River meets the St. Helena Sound.
With over 3200 square feet of lowcountry style, each room tells a story of comfort and quality. Brazilian Cherry floors set the tone for the natural flow. The Cypress paneled office brings the outdoors in while the Low E glass windows and doors ensure efficiency.

beaufort sc: Gas Up Your Boat, Grab The Fried Chicken and Hold On~! Happy Water Festival Beaufort South Carolina! - 07/16/10 08:31 AM
Beaufort South Carolina is surrounded by it, we gaze at it, we swim in it, we fish it, and there is no artist alive who could accurately portray it at sunset!  Our entire coastal town is a buzz. It is Water Festival time in beautiful Beaufort South Carolina ya'll!!
For the next two weeks our town celebrates the joy and beauty of living on the coast. There will be no shortage of boats and a disappointing shortage of fried chicken (Publix, of course).
Children of all ages from all over the United States will flock to our historic downtown waterfront park for … (2 comments)
