beaufort sc realtor: Face to Face - 10/03/10 09:15 PM
I have always enjoyed Facebook. My family lives states away, I have friends all over the world, and there just isn't enough text messages and/or minutes in the day to possibly connect with everyone. Facebook really helps me feel close to those so dear to me, even when it is impossible for me to do so. It wasn't until recently that I realized how important it was to have a business page as well. My clients have expressed to me how much they have enjoyed being able to stay updated on not only their transactions, but local real estate trends, open

beaufort sc realtor: Regardless Of What CNN Says On Tuesday - 07/05/10 10:41 AM
Inventory level is certainly one reason it is clearly a buyers market. Buyers are enjoying their time to be picky, like it or not. After years of sellers having all the say, buyers are exercising their power to dictate exactly how long a property will remain on the market. It isn't simply a "market reaction", it is a buyer's reaction. If you are a statistical guru, forgive my simplicity, but it seems blatantly clear to me that it is more about the buyer than the daily stock report. Buyers need homes, regardless of what CNN decides to say on Tuesday.

While the world eats Turkey and Stuffing May all the Realtors Worry bout Nothing.... 2009 Realtors Thanksgiving Prayer Thank you for all the little things Emails requesting help with a dream A cell phone that fortunately, still rings And someone to explain what the tax credit means. Give me patience for neighbors And family and friends Who see Realtor and think enemy Lord, continue to help me grin. Thank you for cars that work and websites that run High heels that don't hurt And deals that get done. Grant me peace during stress and please hold my tongue from commenting

beaufort sc realtor: Face to Face or Facebook.....Twitter or Talk? - 10/27/09 04:25 PM
I am torn. For a while, I was posting at least once a day, sometimes more. My Facebook account was spit-shined with updated pictures and snappy quotes. It isn't that I wasn't producing, but I must admit once I stuck my head back in the real world (aka had actual not virtual conversations, visited instead of tweeted, talked instead of text, and actually hand wrote a few thank you notes) my business certainly did not suffer. I don't think the virtual world has become such a force that it can replace a smile, a handshake, or a shared cup of coffee.

beaufort sc realtor: How To Win Friends and Influence People in High Heels, Red Lipstick, and Uncomfortable Clothes - 04/27/09 07:52 AM
Deep breath. At the tender age of 9, I read a quote that has forever been implanted in my mind. I find that to be astonishing in and of itself especially in times when my mind seems to be the slipping slide of fodder. 'If only one woman would tell the truth of her life, the world would split wide open." Anonymous Now why on earth would that make such an enormous impact on a 9 year old? Well maybe it was because at the time I most likely felt guilty for something I had just done to my little sister; however,

beaufort sc realtor: A Realtor's Monday Prayer - 04/13/09 07:21 AM
As I stumble out of bed and sprint towards the coffee maker I wonder if I am the only one who begins each Monday with the following prayer: Dear Lord, Please get me to the coffee maker quickly and safely. Please forgive me for the words I say when I realize it is empty. Help me to remember all my blessings as I get behind a driver who has no where to go and is getting there at turtle speed. Soften my tone as my first phone call is from an attorney explaining yet another delay on my closing that seems

beaufort sc realtor: Fingers and Toes~~~ A Woman's Guide to Beaufort Part 1 - 04/01/09 12:29 PM
Typically my clients are men. Marines, especailly drill instructors, don't usually ask me about the best place for a facial, who does the best hair cut, and/or how to find the most comfy place for a mani/pedi. How could I have been so incredibly inconsiderate to my fabulously female clients who have recently relocated to Beautiful Beaufort. Their toes are just as important! So in order to gain redemption for this horrible oversight, I forced myself to do some crucial research. I am just that dedicated that I am willing to put myself in a spa, for research purposes, of course. The results are in,

beaufort sc realtor: I Write To an Audience NOT an Engine - 03/23/09 09:15 PM
I received a phone call today from a fellow Realtor/member of Active Rain. I must admit I had no idea exactly how to feel about his first few statements. He began by telling me how much he knew about search engine optimization. He went on to explain to me that I was wasting my time by posting to certain sites. Ok. I thought, be nice Cherimie. Thankfully, I didn't hang up on him. He is a Beaufort Realtor that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting. After listening to him for a few minutes, I finally confessed. "It isn't my goal

beaufort sc realtor: 5 Things To Consider When Choosing A Realtor To Sell Your Home - 02/20/09 08:05 AM
Realtors are professionals. We work extremely hard to remain knowledgeable, updated, and CALM in a market that has more twists and turns than the Stimulus Bill. Just as in every profession, some work harder, or in a more politically correct world, differently. If it is necessary for you to sell your home there are some very important points to consider when interviewing a Realtor. 1. How does he/she represent his/herself? If a Realtor comes to an interview (listing appointment) dressed as if they just rolled out of bed, how could they possibly advise you on putting your best foot forward?

beaufort sc realtor: Nobody Cares How Much You Know - 02/01/09 08:27 AM
I am proud of the effort put forth in my latest "under contract". I worked really hard to make absolutely certain this home was at the fore front of every Realtor's, purchaser's, and prospective purchaser's mind. At the onset my sellers and I both knew it would take about 9-12 months, based on market data, to reach our goal. It has been exactly 8 months. This couple found me through a Localism Post. They contacted me and asked me to list their home. There was no awkward first-time meeting, no doubt about my professionalism, and actually no question as to whether

beaufort sc realtor: My Clients Have Theme Songs! - 11/01/08 10:41 AM
Recently I wrote a post explaining my IPOD Full of Clients. I am so fortunate to have gained more clients since that post who also have their very own theme songs... Let me explain. I am positive all Realtors, as any professional, have days that humor is their saving grace. I share with my clients my theory on giving them their very own theme song. It is actually one of our brainstorming events while driving to and from homes. It eases the tension of getting to know each other not to mention gives me a chance to REALLY get

beaufort sc realtor: Try Feeding Them Breakfast - 09/23/08 02:27 PM
In a slower market it is imperative that we continue to explore options outside of our normal routine that could possibly increase the traffic to our listings. As a Realtor, my days are filled with meetings, previewing, client calls, conferences, and substantial web time. I make an honest effort to attend Broker Open Houses which are usually held during 11-1pm. Sometimes my intentions are defeated by the day to day tasks which demand my attention. Over the past few months I have begun hosting Broker Open Houses during the morning hours, 8-10am. I have breakfast catered, serve coffee and always try

beaufort sc realtor: Go TO Work - 09/05/08 09:03 AM
My clients love me...they really love me. Am I Realtor Extraordinaire? Do I have some secret mind reading power? Do I have the uncanny ability to make their transaction a life changing experience??? Maybe... However the more plausible explanation is a bit more practical. I go to work. In my previous life I was a school teacher. Now, that is hard work my friends. I am accustomed to long hours, catering to a variety of needs, and I can extinguish a confrontation with that legendary "teacher look"... So what does that have to do with it?? I go to work. Good

beaufort sc realtor: What is on Your Wish List? - 04/16/08 11:06 AM
Have you decided that you're ready to buy a home? Are you ready to look at homes? You might want to have your wish list handy and take notes as you look at different homes. If you haven't yet made a list, here's an idea of some of the things to look for.Do you want a single-family home or a condominium or a townhouse? A single-family home gives you more privacy, but more responsibility too. A condominium may be more affordable and include amenities, such as a community workout center or swimming pool, but requires you to help pay community costs

beaufort sc realtor: My Face is Peeling Off - 04/15/08 03:01 PM
Greetings Fellow Rainers..... Sorry, I have been a bit dry lately. No dancing, singing, or blogging in the rain. Why? Well....I have several excuses: 1. I have been busy (is that really an excuse?) 2. I actually took a vacation (a real bona-fide vacation) 3. I ripped out my bathroom and forgot how to put it back together. I have to admit, there is certain validity to being a disciplined blogger as it relates to productivity. I found that on the days I give the rain it's well deserved attention, I am more focused, better aware of the current events that effect our market, and

beaufort sc realtor: Extraordinary Opportunity Through Ordinary Tasks - 04/01/08 04:19 PM
I hope you are enjoying this gentle beginning to Spring. The showers are prepping our Azaleas for a wonderful season! I would like to inform you of a new venture. After many conversations with clients, friends, and family regarding how difficult it can be for single moms to make ends meet much less put money aside for the future of their children, I have decided to open a new business. As a Realtor, I have been asked countless times for a referral for an honest, dependable, economical cleaning service. I have had the pleasure of hiring a few in the past

beaufort sc realtor: Im doing the Happy Buyer Dance!!!! - 03/11/08 10:23 AM
Two years ago I was blessed with so many sellers who thought I hung the moon. They loved me, referred all their friends and family, and even sent me Christmas gifts! I am still fortunate...my sellers still love me but our lengthy conversations are a bit different than years past. We spend hours on end sprucing up the house, decluttering, staging, and of course landscaping....then there is the amount of time I spend at home studying, creating new marketing campaigns, networking and fine tuning our strategy. SO....my current sellers are still happy (knock on wood) but YOU GOT TO LOVE THOSE CURRENT
