cherimie crane: With The Power of 183,675 - 06/06/10 11:34 PM
In just a few short hours, I will be speaking in front of a prospective client that could possibly ensure the financial stability of my real estate group over the next few years. My presentation is flawless, my answers accurate and current.
Where did such an experienced, successful, well known builder/developer find my team? You got it. My online presentation of my recent new development, Carolina Village led this powerhouse right to my door.
Without Active Rain giving me an avenue to freely market myself as well as my listings, there is no way my community or my name would … (46 comments)

cherimie crane: Marketing A Community~ It is More than Flyers and Fun - 06/05/10 01:36 AM
For the second time in less than 6 months, a reporter has contacted me regarding the success of Carolina Village. Carolina Village is a quaint, happy, thriving community in Beaufort, SC. It isn't brand new, it doesn't have a multimillion dollar marketing team, and there isn't some secret potion that is doused on buyers when they view the homes.

Frequently, I am asked what is it about this particular new construction project that far exceeded the performance of others. Why did homes sell in Carolina Village when they didn't in other areas? How did we get attention of buyers in … (17 comments)

cherimie crane: It Is Like Coffee with A Friend, That Simple - 06/01/10 11:28 AM
Recently a fellow Realtor asked me a question that is becoming more and more common in my day to day encounters with professionals in the industry. She asked me, "How do you know how to blog?" It would be great if I had an impressive, technical, make me look smart kind of answer; I don't.
It seems to me those who are hesitant to begin have the impression that it is something to fear. It really isn't. It may even be an emerging form of therapy.
It could be a personal opinion; however, I find that my favorite bloggers write simply, truthfully, … (50 comments)

cherimie crane: To Save Me From the Pit of Virtual Despair and Bad Hygiene - 05/31/10 03:09 AM
With the constant stream of techno gadgets, do this-do that now, get this learn that, and just bought now outdated, what is a girl (or guy) to do?
Just when I am patting myself on the back for staying current, WHAM,I am old fashioned again. It is a evil cycle that can take good intentions of productivity and turn them into an entire day of pajama wearing, no showering, crack head stare!
So I have decided to implement a plan, one that will hopefully save me from the pit of virtual despair and bad hygiene.

The Plan (If you didn't hear a … (5 comments)

cherimie crane: The Tired Old Approach of MLS Statistics - 05/26/10 03:35 AM
This is a common question both from visitors and even locals. The typical statistical answer of "this many homes sold in this amount of time" is just hogwash. Yep, I said it. There is no way there is a black and white answer for a not so black and white question.

As a seller, does he/she really care if 17 homes were sold and 11 went under contract in 7 months?? Not unless one of those homes belongs to them!!
It is my humble (yet loud and defiant) opinion that there is entirely too much weight given to the … (68 comments)

cherimie crane: Knowing When To Grow~ - 05/24/10 01:45 AM
For many years (obviously I won't say exactly how many) I have been wearing the numerous hats of real estate. Some fit a bit more fashionably than others, yet I wore them all proudly and with stern obligation. From listing, to buyer, to developer, to investor, and so forth, I trudged heavily.
I am proud that I was able to offer all excellent service at the expense of my over crowded brain; however, there comes a time when the Jack of all Trades must become a Master of One.
I love the excitement of the first time buyer. I truly adore that … (9 comments)

cherimie crane: And I Think To Myself.... - 05/18/10 03:07 PM
I see skies of blue, clouds of white, bright blessed days, dark sacred nights, Louis Armstrong must have been to Beaufort, South Carolina.

For the soul that recharges with sunlight and finds saltwater to be the only necessary spa treatment, have you been to Beaufort?

To the eyes that crave the depth of color, to the bare feet that crave warm sand, have you been to Beaufort?

cherimie crane: And Why Bikinis Will Never Have Pockets - 04/25/10 03:03 AM
In real estate, as in life, I often find myself in precarious situations. It seems to be an underlying theme. This I have embraced, accepted, and in many ways perfected. The answer for this condition, syndrome, or curse has alluded me to the point of surrender.
One possible explanation could be that my basic fiber, the very cloth of my being is simply much less endearing than my uncanny ability to survive humiliating, uncomfortable, and even slightly odd social faux pas. Therefore in order to make me somewhat acceptable to the general public, the universe throws me constant curves.
I am … (8 comments)

cherimie crane: Endless Short Sales, Uncloseable Foreclosures, And More Real Estate Irony - 04/08/10 04:45 AM
It has been one of those days. I have two choices: 1. Tell everyone what I really think (and subsequently be shot, incarcerated and/or committed) 2. Make a joke out of the whole thing (and subsequently feel some sort of relief, justification and/or free group therapy).
I don't look good in orange jumpsuits, I don't like being shot, and could never survive in a rubber room; therefore my sense of humor is all I have left.

To all my fellow Realtors may you smile amidst the battles.
1. Short Sale- A transaction in which the Realtor puts an endless amount of … (13 comments)

cherimie crane: Bring Your Fishing Pole, Sunscreen and Senses! - 04/02/10 02:30 AM
Yesterday I said, "I quit!". With almost three months of working long grueling hours, I had finally reached my breaking point. It was time to go fishing. I wonder how others handle it? If they aren't as fortunate as I am to hop in a boat and take a short ride to paradise, where do they escape?
I have made it quite clear that I honestly believe there is no place on earth quite like Beautiful Beaufort. Yesterday confirmed that solid belief. Where else can you honestly say that what you leave is as beautiful as where you are wanting to … (12 comments)

cherimie crane: And We Continued on to View Houses that Actually Were For Sale - 03/27/10 01:49 AM
Working with great buyers is already a favorite past time for Realtors; working with great buyers who have a sense of humor is the holy grail.
It has been an exceptionally long week. Not a bad week; however, one of those weeks that seems to just never end. My Monday morning clients turned into Tuesday evening, my Tuesday evening clients turned in to Thursday morning, and my Thursday morning clients turned in to .....well...(in order to maintain my professionalism, I refrain from the perfect phrasing that is currently attempting dive off my tongue into the pool of "wish I hadn't said that") … (6 comments)

cherimie crane: Beaufort South Carolina ~Come Home To Condos!!!! - 03/08/10 10:40 AM
Precious. Practical. Perfectly placed! Now that makes for a great condo community. Now beautiful Beaufort offers a quaint community with well appointed condos. I am so excited to assist Quinnco Companies LLC  in marketing these affordable homes.

Located less than ten minutes to Parris Island, fifteen minutes to MCAS, and less than five minutes to shopping, restaurants, and of course, easy access to Broad River Bridge Boat Landing.
In addition to location these properties offer comfort and value. Spacious bedrooms, ample closets, well appointed kitchens, and private patios add to the charm and character of Oakview Commons.

cherimie crane: With All The Grace of An Atom Bomb - 03/05/10 01:21 AM
There is no substitute for the ability to get back up after a fall. Equally as important is the ability to fall down with some amount of dignity. I have mastered the first, not the latter.
My job has placed me in the unusual world of men. I work, fight fairly, debate constantly, advise fashionably, and discuss football with most of them. It is a strange world, one in which I am growing strangely accustomed too.
There are rare moments that obviously set me apart from my male partners. One of those occurred this morning. While the birds are singing, the … (7 comments)

cherimie crane: My REAL Estate REALITY~~ - 03/04/10 12:14 PM
After reading through many of this week's blogs I was left with two choices. I could walk out to the dock tie an anchor around my neck and go for a bit of a one way swim, or I could share my side of the real estate story. The water is still a bit cold, so for now I will settle for sharing my side.
Many of this weeks posts were beyond depressing. I even read one that encouraged people to "walk away from their mortgage".
What!?!? Seriously!?!? They must not be from Mississippi.
I am fairly certain that my grandmother would drive … (10 comments)
