fishing in beaufort sc: Beaufort South Carolina Wildlife Remains Wild on A Good Day - 10/31/10 10:23 PM

As a Mississippi girl, sharks were little more than a looming memory of the ominous music played before a massive creature attacked some unsuspecting characters dressed in a most unforgettable and somewhat unforgiving wardrobe from the late 70's.
But now I am in beautiful Beaufort, SC and what do I catch while attempting to hook a trout or two.....Mr. Bonnethead himself. Now, please, before anyone fusses about our mistreatment of the wonderful marine life, you should know Mr. Bonnethead is swimming happily in the saltwater estuaries of the lowcountry.
This was my first experience with this type shark. He was quite the fighter...we had … (3 comments)

fishing in beaufort sc: Bring Your Fishing Pole, Sunscreen and Senses! - 04/02/10 09:30 AM
Yesterday I said, "I quit!". With almost three months of working long grueling hours, I had finally reached my breaking point. It was time to go fishing. I wonder how others handle it? If they aren't as fortunate as I am to hop in a boat and take a short ride to paradise, where do they escape?
I have made it quite clear that I honestly believe there is no place on earth quite like Beautiful Beaufort. Yesterday confirmed that solid belief. Where else can you honestly say that what you leave is as beautiful as where you are wanting to … (13 comments)

fishing in beaufort sc: Sweeeeeeet! It is Almost That Time OF Year Again! - 02/21/10 03:51 PM
Oh goody goody Ya'll!!!! It is getting that time of year again. I can hardly sit still. The water looks like glass, the birds are swooping and diving, the gators are sunning, and the "bait and tackle" shop is all a buzz!
What's a girl to do???? My first mate (pictured below) can hardly contain himself, as if he can smell the warmer waters rolling in!
Maybe it is the warmth of the sun, or the promise of a soon-to-come Spring, whatever it is, I can't wait!!!!

This is ,of course, my busy season in real estate. I am fortunate enough to … (0 comments)

fishing in beaufort sc: Fishing For Miracles~~~ - 08/13/09 12:41 PM
If you have read any of my Active Rain posts, you have probably figured out that I enjoy fishing. I love to fish. Some days I down right NEED to fish. There is a fishing analogy for just about every event in life from dating, to real estate, and even dealing with family.
I have found that if you stop for just a second, and apply basic principals of fishing to even the most pickled of situations, there is wisdom to be found.
This weekend is the 2009 FISHING FOR MIRALCES KING MACKEREL tournament in Charleston,SC. Not only does the name inspire but … (11 comments)

fishing in beaufort sc: Fish Tales - 09/05/08 09:58 AM
Fishing is probably the biggest recreational sport in Beaufort, and being there are so many marsh habitats for young sea life, it's understandable why so many of their hunters show up in these waters. The list of species range from the famous Cobia to the best of the bait stealers...the Sheephead.
Fishing in the Beaufort area can be equally productive by boat or by pier, dock, surf, or bank. A saltwater license is required to fish Beaufort waters.

fishing in beaufort sc: MayDay Mayday...Realtor OVERBOARD!!!!!!! - 02/18/08 09:38 AM
As if my day wasn't long enough....Moments after eloquently explaining the rise and fall of our ever changing tides while WALKING BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS on a floating dock...I busted my @$$...Yep.
Sorry for the language but there simply isn't a better word for it.
There are moments in our careers that are easily recoverable...My friends..this WAS NOT one of them.
We have a little thing called pluff mud here in Beaufort South Carolina. It is part mud, part water, part oyster shell, and part quick sand!!!
I fell in all parts:)
My clients, bless their hearts, were able to … (10 comments)

fishing in beaufort sc: When the Fish don't bite.....Grab an Oyster!! - 01/23/08 11:18 AM

It was a bit cloudy, a little windy, and cold, well cold for Beaufort that is, a breezy 56 degrees. I was persuaded out into this chilly venture by the promise of a great school of Bass. The offer was so tempting, a so beautifully described in vivid detail that any woman with a passion for the thrill of the catch would certainly rearrange her entire day!
We had to leave at dead low tide. Which meant no motor...which meant someone was going to have to pole us to this new found treasure....

As you can see....that someone was not … (0 comments)
