real estate blogs: To Save Me From the Pit of Virtual Despair and Bad Hygiene - 05/31/10 10:09 AM
With the constant stream of techno gadgets, do this-do that now, get this learn that, and just bought now outdated, what is a girl (or guy) to do?
Just when I am patting myself on the back for staying current, WHAM,I am old fashioned again. It is a evil cycle that can take good intentions of productivity and turn them into an entire day of pajama wearing, no showering, crack head stare!
So I have decided to implement a plan, one that will hopefully save me from the pit of virtual despair and bad hygiene.

The Plan (If you didn't hear a … (5 comments)

real estate blogs: I Write To an Audience NOT an Engine - 03/23/09 09:15 PM
I received a phone call today from a fellow Realtor/member of Active Rain. I must admit I had no idea exactly how to feel about his first few statements. He began by telling me how much he knew about search engine optimization. He went on to explain to me that I was wasting my time by posting to certain sites.
Ok. I thought, be nice Cherimie.
Thankfully, I didn't hang up on him.
He is a Beaufort Realtor that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting. After listening to him for a few minutes, I finally confessed.
"It isn't my goal … (90 comments)

real estate blogs: After All It is My Office - 03/20/09 10:05 PM
It is 10:45pm and I am just now getting home from working on my new office. Part excitement, part anxiety is what has kept me going this long on a Friday.
My clients, past and present, are pushing me forward with their encouragement and support. Just when I think I can't, they remind me that I can.
I giggle to myself when I think of the things that I don't have to get approved or cleared by someone else. After all it is my office.
So to end my long Friday with a smile the following are liberating thoughts for a Realtor … (27 comments)

real estate blogs: A Shield Thrown to Protect, Not to Impress - 03/10/09 08:39 AM
No one talks about it at parties, award ceremonies, or charity events. It isn't written at the bottom of a thank you note. You won't find it engraved on a plaque or embossed on precious metal.
It is one of the greatest secrets kept by those driven to achieve, regardless.
There are countless books based on success, how to achieve it, how to maintain it, and how to clearly identify it when encountered. Yet, not once have I read about the one extraordinarily common element of those that persevere when others fall by the masses.
It isn't arrogance, pride, or … (16 comments)

real estate blogs: Too Tired to Blog - 03/05/09 05:43 PM
The white flag is waiving, I admit it. After two weeks of a real estate roller coaster, I am down right pooped (southernese for exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, etc....insert word of choice).
With six properties under contract, one release of agreement, a new development, a new company, new broker license, and of course a new puppy, my ability to write coherent statements has diminished.
I am extremely aware of my lack of blogging.
As a matter of fact, it is one more thing I feel guilty for not having time to accomplish. In addition to my gut wrenching blog guilt there are floors … (24 comments)

real estate blogs: Feed The Dog, Feed the BLog, Don't Forget, Feed the Soul! - 02/27/09 06:19 AM
Mornings are a mad dash now that I have a new puppy. Gone are the days of relaxing mornings with a cup of coffee. The coffee is still available; however, it isn't quite as easy to drink with the great expectations of my newest four legged friend.
From the moment his little eyes open, (note I said HIS EYES, not mine) I have exactly 2.5 minutes to make it to the back door.

Once morning potty time is over, it morphs quickly into morning play time.
My morning yoga is a thing of the past. So I have … (21 comments)

real estate blogs: Breaking Up is Hard To Do - 12/28/08 09:40 AM
They say that Breaking Up is Hard to Do...now I know, I know that it is true. Real estate is a challenging career in and of itself, right?
We spend our time and energy developing meaningful relationships. We become friends with clients, partners, coworkers, and their families.

So when one party decides the relationship is over, someone is left to a Kleenex excursion of "why".
The only thing in life that is constant is change. So why is it so difficult?
Why do we have that little pain in the upper chest?
Why is it our natural instinct to pout, … (43 comments)

real estate blogs: Home in Beaufort SC Featured on TODAY - 12/15/08 02:54 PM
Picket Fences is one of our many charming communities. Just like Barbara Corcoran said, it is one of real estate's best buys!
"Beaufort is just the way everyone pictures a great Southern town.." Barbara said.
What great exposure!

This charming home was featured on a segment of The Today's Show on Friday.
I have shown this home and couldn't agree more with Barbara's comments.
It is just so nice that now people from all over will get to peek into just one of Beaufort's wonderful communities.

real estate blogs: Everybody Wang Chung Tonight! - 12/15/08 07:01 AM
What on earth?!?!? I woke up this morning singing a strange song from the 80's. Although this isn't that uncommon, the song choice is a bit strange.
"Everybody have fun tonight, everybody Wang Chung tonight.."
I wasn't fond of this song in it's original time, why on earth did I wake up singing it today?!?!
The mind is an odd cookie, especially mine. As I am belting out this ditty from the 80's, it made me think.
How do we get certain things into our minds, and what is the effect?
As I am cracking myself up in the shower, I … (14 comments)

real estate blogs: Will I Sound Like Polly Anna???? - 12/12/08 03:54 PM
Funny as it sounds, I actually hesitated before writing this post. Just as in speech, I often write before thinking and later wonder if I should have refrained.
My mind started flooding with doubts and fear such as "Will I sound like Polly Anna?", "Will I sound arrogant?" etc....
Thankfully, my natural impulsive behavior won. No, I am not Polly Anna. I am a positive person, slightly naive at times, and sometimes down right annoying. At least I know it, right?
In this difficult time of foreclosures, short sales, job losses, and a collective fear of the unknown, I had a … (15 comments)

real estate blogs: Realtor's Thanksgiving Prayer - 11/21/08 08:30 AM

 Realtors Thanksgiving Prayer

Thank you for all the little things
Emails requesting help with a dream
A cell phone that still rings
And bloggers who are exactly what they seem.

Give me patience for neighbors
And family and  friends
Who see Realtor and think favor
Lord, continue to help me grin.

Grant me peace during stress
and please hold my tongue
from commenting on the mess
our industry has become.

Let my lockbox unlock
my fliers still fly
my sellers avoid shock
and my buyers still buy.

For my Lord, I am just an agent
hanging on with … (22 comments)

real estate blogs: Rain Drops Felt in Nairobi, Kenya - 11/11/08 05:57 AM
This morning began as most others, coffee in hand, best friend in tow. I am walking upstairs to my office only half awake, the other half wondering what exactly motivated me to wake up at this hour.
One familiar click and the day has officially begun.

Good Morning, Outlook.  I casually skim over my inbox for anything unusual.....
KENYA!!?!?!?
Ok, I prepare myself to reject an offer to send someone thousands of dollars as I assume it is junk mail.  (Isn't that horrible?)
Wait....This is a real email. From a real person, all the way from Nairobi, Kenya.
I continue to read … (20 comments)

real estate blogs: GoodBye 'Great Post' - 10/14/08 03:38 PM
I did it and I admit it. I have read hundreds of heartfelt, informative, educational, and downright fascinating posts.
And what did I do?
I commented "Great Post".
As I was blogging away this morning I realized how impersonal, superficial, and rude I had been. Couldn't I come up with  something better than "Great Post".
Real Estate Blogs take time, energy, thought, and at times great emotion. All of which are deserving of more than my vague two word comment.
I have learned so much from Active Rain. I promise to rid myself of the great post plague.
In the future I … (42 comments)
