Okay…I have to confess. Cherise and I are not Denver Bronco fans, though I used to be a season ticket holder to watch the glory days of John Elway and the Orange Crush in action. Ever since childhood I have been a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, relishing in the championships of this storied franchise, as well as having my heart ripped from my chest cavity as this team has under-performed on several occasions over the past two decades, and especially, during the last few years given the skill on their depth chart. That’s a whole other subject for another time. (22 comments)
After my workout early this morning (5K fast walk), I did what I usually do every morning, which is to visit our local Starbucks, and then to order Cherise her daily Grande Americana with one shot Vanilla, and a Grande Chai Tea for myself. While there, I ran into a high profile Colorado Springs Realtor who is one of the brokers of a mid-sized real estate brokerage in town. As we chatted back and forth, of course, we asked each other how things are going, including the realities of the Colorado Springs Real Estate business. We both got a chuckle, (10 comments)

November STAT PACK – Colorado Springs Real Estate - 11/09/11 06:15 PM
November STAT PACK – Colorado Springs Real Estate Simply, this is the most comprehensive statistical information compiled about real estate in Colorado Springs. Not only are there substantial markers about the trends of our local market, but Benjamin Day and Hannah Parsons have incorporated macroeconomics in their detailed analyses. Ben said it best, “the focus of the Stat Pack this month is to dial in on the personal rationalizations, dreams and hopes of people making elective home-buying and home-selling decisions. The seeds of 2012 market activity are sewn now, like tulip and crocus bulbs underneath the winter mulch.” Click on to (3 comments)
Coincidence? That’s a philosophical conversation in itself. What I do know is this. Cherise Selley and Hannah Parsons did not plan what they were going to wear to work today. Yet, amazingly, their fashion style merged beautifully, ranging from the color schemes of their outfits to the style of jewelry they wore to the length of each piece of garment they adorned. Coincidence or the emergence of like-mindedness? Again, who really knows, except I can say that it’s wonderful to see these enthusiastic and topnotch Colorado Springs Realtors merging with ideas and friendship. Part of the tribal culture in a (11 comments)

Listing and Sales Summary – October 2011 – Colorado Springs Real Estate When looking at the Listing and Sales Summary for October 2001 (provided by the Pikes Peak REALTOR® Services Corp), this Colorado Springs CO Realtor would like to share a few thoughts to consider. I didn’t actually anticipate that there would be an increase in home sales by 12.8% from last month; and when comparing October 2011 to October 2010, that there would also be a staggering 20.1% increase in home sales as well. As single family/patio home sales increased from 672 units to 758 from September to October (8 comments)

When reading an article entitled, Housing: A time to buy, written by Dr. David Kelly and David Lebovitz, I found these two experts of J.P. Morgan lay out some very well-balanced points of view about today’s market trends. Four measures of value about whether or not you should buy a home are included in the article: Evaluate home prices relative to average household income Overcoming the economic malaise by taking advantage of the reduced mortgage rates Look at the cost of renting versus the cost of owning Do the math when it comes to home pricing relative to the cost (4 comments)
The compacted report regarding the Colorado Springs Real Estate market is provided by Bill McAfee of Empire Title of Colorado Springs. The numbers aren’t really that surprising given how the price reductions intermix with a slight increase in residential sales. As a Colorado Springs CO Realtor, I am comforted by the double digit decrease in listings and foreclosures, which leaves the doors wide open for some active real estate sales for 2012. 2011 YTD vs. 2010 YTD • Average Price Down 3.4% • Median Price Down 3.7% • Residential Units Sold UP 0.5% • Inventory Levels Down 4.5% • Number (0 comments)
In the October 31, 2011 edition of the Colorado Springs Real Estate Journal is an article written by Michael Podoyak of Empire Title of Colorado Springs about the top Colorado Springs Realtors who are giving back to their community. To contribute to the “Attitude of Gratitude” contest on Active Rain, I felt it prudent to submit verbatim what was written by Mr. Podoyak. His words capture the importance of addressing the welfare of families, as well as describing the “heart” of this prestigious real estate organization in Colorado Springs. As President of Peak Producers, I, Cherise Selley, am greatly humbled (10 comments)

Our First Year at Selley Group – Benjamin Day and Hannah Parsons - 11/01/11 02:08 PM
N-o-v-e-m-b-e-r 1st! Can you believe how quickly this year has flown by? Cherise and I would like to share this particular commentary about our brokerage, written by Benjamin Day. We share this not to boast about who we are or how our business operates against our competitors; because, in essence, we view our competition as part of what makes us who we are, down to the nuts and bolts about this industry. Simply, we are sharing this blog post with others who are trying to “get it,” as it pertains to establishing either small real estate teams, brokerages, or just trying (4 comments)
