thousand oaks real estate: Escrow Closed...Job Well Done! - 11/20/10 09:39 AM
One of the biggest rewards of my job is seeing the faces of my clients when I hand them the keys to their new home. Yesterday was one of those days. As I placed the keys into my client's hand, he held it up into the shimmering light and said, "All that work for these little things?" Yes, all that work! As a conscientious Realtor I pride myself in going above and beyond my client's expectations... in a smart way. The longer I am in this business and the more transactions I close, the more experience I gain. I take something

thousand oaks real estate: A Realtor Should Have Only One Thing On Her Mind... - 12/23/09 10:41 PM
Have you ever worn a pair of shoes that made you miserable all day long? I have! Don't get me wrong! I love trendy, cute shoes that coordinate just right with my outfit... but they usually are soooooo very painful! By noon I am feeling like my toes are in a vice grip with every step I take. I am convinced this would be a great interrogation technique for prisoners! Just make someone walk a few hours in these trendy shoes and they will tell you anything and everything to get them off their feet! Agonizing torture! A couple

thousand oaks real estate: The Path With No Obstacles Leads Nowhere - 06/02/09 07:59 AM
Obstacles in real estate? We've got plenty of them! What profession doesn't have obstacles? They just change from time to time, season to season. We saw homes sales plummet last year and with it, the doom and gloom of the media. Well... let's take a look at the numbers now. April's sales report for California was just released and, from what I see, sales are up. According to the California Association of Realtors, overall in California, homes sales in April increased 49.2 percent. Earlier reports related the fact that over 50% of these sales are attributed to first-time buyers. Unsold inventory

thousand oaks real estate: What's the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you? - 04/06/09 05:09 PM
We Realtors have had a lot of different experiences in the field. Well, this past week I was with some really awesome clients. We viewed eight properties without a glitch. At the last property viewing we were walking through the house and I stayed back to let them take their time to look. Well, I started to make my way to the living room and completely missed the step up (all the tile was the same color and the step was easy to miss) my clients said all they heard was "Ahhhhhhhhhh...." kerplunk! Yes, I tripped and fell. My clients came running but

thousand oaks real estate: Affordability for California First Time Buyer's Increased to 53%! - 03/30/09 02:08 AM
With lower prices and relatively low mortgage rates, affordability has improved dramatically in recent months, creating great opportunities for well-qualified buyers with a steady job and stable income situation. First-time buyers are in a somewhat better situation than current homeowners, who may have the contingency of selling their current home in order to buy another home. In addition, the Homebuyer Tax Credit (H.R. 1) just signed into law will also make buying a home more affordable to first-time buyers in 2009 than in previous years. Section 1006 of HR1: First time home buyer tax credit of $8,000. This tax credit updates

This is a time when many home buyers are waiting on the side line. What are they waiting for? Lower interest rates. Lower prices. Consumer confidence. They want assurance they are making a sound financial decision. How can you be sure this is the right time to buy? 1. How long are you planning to stay? Real estate ownership is not
