Have you ever worn a pair of shoes that made you miserable all day long? I have!
Don't get me wrong! I love trendy, cute shoes that coordinate just right with my outfit... but they usually are soooooo very painful! By noon I am feeling like my toes are in a vice grip with every step I take. I am convinced this would be a great interrogation technique for prisoners! Just make someone walk a few hours in these trendy shoes and they will tell you anything and everything to get them off their feet!

Obstacles in real estate? We've got plenty of them! What profession doesn't have obstacles? They just change from time to time, season to season. We saw homes sales plummet last year and with it, the doom and gloom of the media. Well... let's take a look at the numbers now. April's sales report for California was just released and, from what I see, sales are up.
According to the California Association of Realtors, overall in California, homes sales in April increased 49.2 percent. Earlier reports related the fact that over 50% of these sales are attributed to first-time buyers.

The Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Chamber Ambassadors enjoyed a social night out last Friday at Mastro's Steak House in Thousand Oaks. Mastro's is located right across Thousand Oaks Blvd. from The Lakes at 2087 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
Mastro's Steak House has been a long standing member of the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Chamber of Commerce. The Ambassadors enjoyed scrumptious hors d'oeuvres including crab cakes and bruschetta. The atmosphere and ambience of the bar is eclectic and exciting. The live entertainment tempted a few Ambassadors to the dance floor. While others preferred to socialize and have a great time.

The carnival is located at the soccer fields off Janss Rd. and the 23 fwy. It will be open through Sunday, May 10th. Mothers get FREE admission on Sunday for Mother's Day! The Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated a Ribbon Cutting for Best Move on April 16th. Best Move is a family owned and operated moving company with a claim to fame that there will be "ABSOLUTELY NO LAST MINUTE HIDDEN CHARGES."
Owners Lynn Maher and Gary Giordano hosted the event. The truck arrived just in time for the Ambassadors to take the customary ribbon cutting picture in front of it. Lynn brought hand-made sub sandwiches accompanied with potato chips, potato salad and all the trimmings. We toasted to their success with fun rhyming poems.

We Realtors have had a lot of different experiences in the field. Well, this past week I was with some really awesome clients. We viewed eight properties without a glitch. At the last property viewing we were walking through the house and I stayed back to let them take their time to look. Well, I started to make my way to the living room and completely missed the step up (all the tile was the same color and the step was easy to miss) my clients said all they heard was "Ahhhhhhhhhh...." kerplunk! With lower prices and relatively low mortgage rates, affordability has improved dramatically in recent months, creating great opportunities for well-qualified buyers with a steady job and stable income situation. First-time buyers are in a somewhat better situation than current homeowners, who may have the contingency of selling their current home in order to buy another home. According to California Association of Realtors, California SALES ARE UP 117.1%.
Home sales increased 117.1% in October in California compared with the same period a year ago C.A.R. reported on November 25, 2008. "Statewide sales increased significantly in October to 552,750 homes on an annualized basis, the highest sales level since late 2005," said C.A.R. President James Liptak.
