Experience a 19th century Christmas on historic Prairie Avenue and learn how the celebration of Christmas, as we know it today, began.  Special 90-minute docent led tours are offered this Saturday and Sunday, December 11-12 at the Glessner House and Clarke House Museums.   Each museum has been transformed for the holiday season.  The Clarke House is decorated in the style of the 1830's and 1840's, and the Glessner House in the style of the late 19th century.

Chicago's Winter Parking Ban Goes Into Effect Tonight - 12/01/10 12:03 AM
 It's time for the annual Winter Parking Ban, from December 1st to April 1st.  Cars parked along specifically marked streets, mostly major arteries, are subject to towing and fines if they are left overnight, between the hours of 3am and 7am.   Parking along restricted streets can result in towing fees which begin at $150, a $50 ticket and daily storage fees of $10 that increase over time.
