I was meetiing with the sales representative for a vendor we use for advertising a day or two ago and I asked him what he was hearing from other agents about the Portland Oregon market.  He said he was noticing agents were starting to share pages for advertising, etc., rather than have their own page and then he pointed to one agent who has been around a long time and said that this agent was really happy for this market and loves it because it gets rid of all of the jelly donut eaters. I laughed so hard and thought that is so true.  If you just get back to basics and work really hard it is such a great time for those of us who know how to do that.  I happened to be talking to another long time agent and passed the comment on and we both laughed and she said she can remember this agent saying that years ago when times were tough in real estate.  We have one client right now who is on her fourth offer - she has lost the last two to multiple offers and one to a  bad inspection . Her price point is $250,000 or less and if you read the newspaper today you would swear there wasn't a buyer living in that price range - I would love to have that type of scenario recounted in the newspaper on a daily basis - I can't help but believe it could help spur the market.  I also have another client in the $500-650 range and do you think we can find much inventory - you would be surprised - we really can't that fits their needs.  No jelly donuts for us today - we've got work to do!
