Barefoot Beach ducks are just a little antisocial at first. They were playing in standing water until the crazy urban bush woman of Bonita Springs started infringing upon their personal space. I slowly squatted down and waited. The mommy was giving me the stink eye but eventutally it dawned on her that the wide angle camera differentiated me from the usual duck hunter. That and I also wasn't wearing camo or orange. She realized that I was merely a nuisance and not dangerous.

Better yet, why is she letting a crazy woman take pictures of her in a bikini?
And why don't my legs look that darn good?! I demand a do over on the 20's.

Little do many people know that there are Collier County Beaches in Bonita Springs. At the entry to the Barefoot Beach Community is a large Collier County beach park. In addition to the Collier Count Parks Beaches there is a State Park at the south end of Barefoot Beach. The state park is accessible via Barefoot Beach Blvd across the Street from The Bonita Beach and Tennis Club Condominiums.
Collier County offers beach parking to visitors and residents with beach permits.

Barefoot Beach and Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park are two parks located in Northern Collier County. The parks are separated by Wiggins Pass, a water channel fed by the Cocohatchee River.
Barefoot Beach is located south of Bonita Beach on Barefoot Beach Blvd. in Bonita Springs, Florida. Park admission is $5.00. Restroom, shower and snack service facilities are on site.
Barefoot Beach Park is a Gopher Tortoise preserve. This is an excellent location to catch a glimps of these dinosaurs in action.

Caution: Shameless beach promotion.
In an effort to quit taking our beautiful beach for granted I made the trek, a whopping 3 miles to the beach to catch the sunset last night.
It's the height of tourist season, so it wasn't as easy as it sounds. There's only one road to Bonita Beach and I wasn't the only one with this brilliant idea.

Bonita Beach is located on Florida's gulf coast just a few miles north of Naples and about two hours south of Tampa. The white sand beaches of Bonita Springs have been a favorite destination for world travelers. Unfortunatly, too much time goes by between visits to the beach for a lot of locals and long time residents. Enjoy the photos I snapped when I stopped to smell the roses and the beach breezes.
