I was speaking with a REALTOR® friend the other day and she mentioned that the average DOM had risen substantially in her county-- as it has in most counties.  With fewer buyers out there ready and able to transact and with sellers not yet reacting quickly enough to the new pricing realities of a "buyer's market" homes are languishing.  Properties that would have attracted multiple offers at or above listing price within a week only 18 months ago are now, slowly and quietly, starting to show off those "Price Reduced" sign riders.  These usually signal the end of the frenzy and the return of Sunday afternoons watching … (28 comments)

Calendars and the real estate industry seem to go together like cookies and milk and every year REALTORS® and mortgage professionals dutifully set aside a handful of important marketing dollars to produce them to send to their client and prospect lists.  But are these calendars doing any good in the marketing effort?  Could you create a 'better' calendar that marketed you more effectively than what's been done before?  I think you can!  Here's how:
1)  Remember that most folks will get many calendars tossed their way each year but one or two will actually get used consistently.  Figure out how to be one of them!

We're entering a second wave of environmental consciousness in America and companies are jumping on the "green" bandwagon fast.  There's good reason to do so:  it makes good marketing sense to be "green" when consumers indicate they by and large prefer "green" behavior and are willing to seek it out.  And, in some cases, they're even willing to pay a premium to make certain they get it!    But we were going green long before it became fashionable to talk about it in our marketing efforts-- and every day we're still trying to do more and do it better!
