A post on RealTalk last night about a change in HomeGain's Agent Evaluator product caught my eye.  As a former Director of Sales for HomeGain, I know a little bit about the company's products and how they work most efficiently.  The RealTalker was essentially calling out how things in the 'lead aggregator world' have changed so drastically that HomeGain is forced to eliminate their 'free' subscription to AE and now charge $29.95 a month for participation with the product.  The implication seemed to be that the push for revenue in a down market extended deep-- and that vantage is probably true, but not … (3 comments)

realtalk: Where Did Anaheim, My Hometown, Go? - 01/16/07 06:32 PM
Growing up near Disneyland has created its own little psychological dramas but now someone has stolen my hometown, Anaheim, and I can't find it anywhere.  I suspect it's really gone because this week I reconnected with a former childhood friend (now a Folsom-area Realtor®) Stephen Lewotsky, and he confirmed for me that Anaheim is really missing.  And seeing Stephen, along with reading Internet Crusade's RealTalk all this week and the various "Older Than Dirt" posts, has reminded me of all the things from my childhood that are long gone now.  I assume things have changed in your hometown too and I encourage you to tell us about them.   … (106 comments)

realtalk: Why Be A Part of a Team? - 12/20/06 05:00 PM
I read with interest Maria Patterson's article citing the Top Five Reasons for Joining An Agent Team in today's RISMedia distribution (see http://www.rismedia.com/wp/2006-12-19/all-together-now-the-top-five-reasons-for-joining-an-agent-team/ for the entire article).  The reasons:
- To distribute the workload, thereby creating more time off and a more balanced life- To make more money- To capitalize on varying strengths and capabilities of team members- To provide better service, thereby developing more loyal clients- To share expenses
